Ahmadinejad: Man in space by 2025

Says Iran is keen to join the space race

(AP): Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that his country was determined to send its first astronaut into space by 2025. "I hope with the grace of God and the help of our academics and experts we can send the first Iranian astronaut to space before 2025," he said in an address to a group of academics. He also said Iran needed to continue developing the technology to put larger satellites into orbit >>> Related blog

Don't be negative

by iamfine on

We should be happy that Iran is able to produce rockets, satellites, and may be in the near future some small version of the space station. I am happy not because Mullah did it, rather our smart, well educated, young scientist were able to put it together. Believe me, our Iranian scientist are not happy with the current government, but their love for Iran is strong and like to see Iran is going forward. May be if Iran advances in space technology (as well as other areas of science), the rest of the world look at Iran differently and possibly removing the economic sanction, which eventually lead into more freedom for Iranians.

IRI: technological titan

by AMIR1973 on

Iran has accomplished impressive results with its aerospace program.

"Impressive" isn't the first word I'd use to describe the IRI's Russian-built Tupolev Flying Coffins. Or does the IRI's "impressive results" not extend to airliners which carry Iranians?

Well, the target year isn't

by Sargord Pirouz on

Well, the target year isn't what's significant. What's significant is that we'll be seeing larger and more powerful rocket systems being produced during the next 15 years. Already, during the past five years alone, Iran has accomplished impressive results with its aerospace program. Ahmadinejad is signaling this pace of achievement will continue into the decade after next.

Demo

Man in Space of 1989

by Demo on

Were not the people playing balls with the dead body of Khomeini in space in 1989 before burying his body underground?? Hopefully by 2025 the other "supreme one" will be underground & this "Jahel" will still be searching for his "Hidden Imam" in deep wells while his "Iranian Man" will be lost in the space forever.

The real changes only come from bottom to the top & not from the top to the bottom.

An Iranian would-be astronaut will not be the first Muslim, or practitioner of any faith in space. In mid 80's a Saudi prince (have you ever heard of a Saudi non-prince?) went to space as a payload, only to recite Quran.

The ill fated Space Shuttle Columbia, carried the first Israeli to space who was instructed by the Jewish religious authorities as to how observe the Sabbath.

When you're in orbit, which way is Mecca? .. Simple

by Mardom Mazloom on

If England is a little island in West coast of Africa then, Mecca in Orbit, should be behind the bottom of the first "Rishoo" near the porthole: all the other "Rishoo"s have hence to sajdeh by fixing this bottom...The position might change when the cabin turns in orbit but the bottom is always there...

When you're in orbit, which way is Mecca?

The biggest "technical" problem for the Arab that IRI will send to space
(he would be a Pasdar, hezbolahi, palestinian, and not an Iranian), if
IRI is still around in 2025 , is which way to pray, how to wash you hand
and feet and other places, how to do rokkoh in weightlessness,...,
these may sound idiotic to normal people (not brain washed by Islam) see
