Neda Agha Soltan

Tree planted in her name in London's Hyde Park

A group of Iranians in London managed to receive permission to plant a tree named Neda inside London's Hyde Park. The tree is to pay tribute to all those who have lost their lives and freedom to their struggle for Iran and to protest the gross violations of human rights in Iran. Fast Forward to 10:00 to see the actual short ceremony (first 10 minutes are two speeches):

Tree of secularism and freedom for Iranian women.

by Roozbeh_Gilani on

What a great, yet simple way of remembering this martyr and symbol of resistance against the fascist islamist regime of Iran. The location, if close to islamist regime's embassy, is just wonderful. Let the anti Iranian, anti woman islamist spies in london see the tree of secularism and freedom growing and getting stronger everyday.......

Rock on!

I hope Iranian Embassies will soon be staffed with civilized, qualified, helpful and patriotic Iranians who will make Persia proud. On the other hand I hope that the ugly Taliban Hezbollah Idol worshipping mo fo's who are currently staffed in Iranian diplomatic missions will be fired, sent back to Iran and be investigated for any crimes that they might have committed against the Iranian people and the glorious Iranian nation. We have had enough! Free our people!

The tree is planted directly across from the Iranian Embassy in London.  Excellent move, great tribute.  Thank you.

A beautiful gesture indeed. More meaningful and lasting than many other tributes to Neda, which really is a tribute to the protesters who took to the street simply to demand change.

A Magnificent Gesture!

This tree will be seen as a symbol of Iranians' opposition to the murderous IR regime and will eternalize Neda's memory! We should all be gratefull to the Hyde Park Authority for this humanitarian gesture. This compassionate act will not be forgotten by tens of millions of Iranians who oppose the regime in Tehran. Thank you.
