BBC: Iran has executed the mistress of a prominent footballer for the 2002 murder of his wife, state media says. Shahla Jahed, 40, was hanged in Tehran for stabbing to death the wife of 1980s football star Nasser Mohammadkhani, the woman's lawyer told Irna news agency. Mr Mohammadkhani, who had been in a so-called temporary marriage with Jahed, reportedly attended the execution.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sat Dec 04, 2010 05:04 AM PSTThe only crime Shahla committed was falling inlove.
No Shahla did not commit any crime at all. The crime was committed in 1979 by the people who marched for Khomeini. Those people are responsible for Shahla and every single other act of the Islamist Republic.

by Blind Justice on Fri Dec 03, 2010 06:09 PM PSTI have some questions..
1. If the evidence proved that she was sexually assaulted, that a man must've been there, why question Shahla alone? Who's the man? and who's protecting the man?
2. They say Shahla was psychotic, why did she abort the child? Is it against the law?
3. Why was Naseer allowed to see Shahla in her prison cell, and what did he tell her that made her want to "confess"?
I still believe the murderer is alive, but only god knows. Will justice really be served? Or is Iran gonna protect the "males" of society?
The only crime Shahla committed was falling inlove.

Sheila, you can speak for yourself. Do not try to push off Islamist crimes on the rest of us Iranian. Nice try; but sorry no cigar. I am not cruel and I condemn Islamist In fact I and others have already explained the system is broken. We explained that confession under torture is not valid. You CHOOSE to ignore that and then blame us? How dare you! She was and is innocent until proven guilty. She was never proved guilty. You by condoning the actions of IRI are putting yourself in the same level as the people who did this atrocity.
The Islamic system allows this kind of "justice". Hence it pretty mhc is the fault of the system. A sane system would not allow this.
The officials asked the victim's family to spare her life and they refused and ,worst than that her son pulled the chair to hang his mother's murderer.
As explained she was never proved to be a murderer. You are jumping to false conclusions based on accepting the Islamist system.
What kind of a father allows that? That's just sick!

by Simorgh5555 on Thu Dec 02, 2010 01:15 PM PSTShahla's crime was falling in love with a money like Mohamamdkhani.
In the eyes of many Iranians she was a prostitute, from a low social backgorund and a zabun deraz.

So did Sakinesh Ashtani on TV! Let's stone her to death, shall we? After being imprisoned having her fingenails pulled out, this would lead many women in Shahla's place to 'confess'. We are talking about the Islamic Republic, the most evil terorist regime ever known to mankind.

Her amateur acting as she 're-enacts' a murder scene making it up as she goes along? In the video she 'confessed' to have stabbed the victim once and not several times. She also said that the victim put up a fight afer being hit over the head with a baseball bat and after being stabbed she went for Shahla again.
The Judge does not seem to be the least bit interested in the absurdity of Shahla's account and says that once someone confesses to a murderer then it is final.
Still, no murder weapon. No baseball bat or stick. No finger prints.

Lopsided justice system
by varjavand on Thu Dec 02, 2010 12:50 PM PSTI agree with those who believe that Mr. Mohammadkhani, the main culprit, should be also held accountable for this crime. The rigged judiciary system of Iran will allow men like him to prey on the gullibility of women to satisfy their promiscuous desires and get away with it. Women like Shahla are the victim of the man-made religious traditions and a lopsided justice system that is mainly designed to protect the men.
Had he not been given the legal right to temporary marriage, the whole episode could have been prevented.

Any acts outside the Book of Islam; i.e. Quran; to a Muslim is either a Hadith (A Hearsay, A Story) or such have been invented by Moolahs, (Mentally Impaired) Akhoonds, Doctors in Religions!!, and etc. All under the name of GOD (Great sinful acts in themselves as again mentioned in Quran). Read that Book. It will increase your wisdom. Guranteed.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Thu Dec 02, 2010 09:47 AM PSTAny confession under duress or torture is worthless. Islamists are so quick to accept evidence obtained by torture from an Iranian helpless girl. That is just the "law of the land".
But if America water boards some Islamic terrorist then there is hell to pay! All the Islamists suddenly learn about "human right". Suddenly they become human right advocates and start hugging and kissing Jimmy Carter: terrorists best friend.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Thu Dec 02, 2010 09:42 AM PSTI agree with the innocent until proven guilty point. As a legal point that is absolutely right.
In fact I brought it up in debating Souri on this blog:
//iranian.com/main/blog/11mashty/shahla-c...
Regarding the question of what happened. I don't know. However the points you make are valid and point to her innocence.
Again m main problem is the whole Islamist system. It can never prove anything because it is so messed up.
The people responsible for these atrocities are murders. They should be tried for premeditated murder punished for them. There is no justice in Islamic hell.
To proclaim to know her guilt or innocence is just making a fool
by Simorgh5555 on Thu Dec 02, 2010 09:09 AM PSTSo it means YOU are INNOCENT until proven GUILTY. You can't sit on the fence on this matter. Prove it or release her. Because this terrorist governemtn did not prove Shahla's guilt then she remains INNOCENT.
Funny, when I claim that members of the IR should be put on trial and executed when their guilt of murder and terror is beyond doubt, I am condemned. When I say that Shahla Jahed was innocent, you hear the same rubbish: 'Hmmmmm,,,,,...not sure...don't know!". Pathetic.

What a confession exracted by members of the IR after being imprisoned for three months and advice from a legal representative? Sakineh Mohammed Ashtani has also recently 'confessed' to her murder on terrorist television and therefore I should believe it? She also had a 'motivation' to kill her husband.
We won't be too optimistic and hope a backward terrorist regime like the IR has a DNA forensic experts to their crime investigation work but a murder weapon would be helpful at least.

To proclaim to know her guilt or innocence is just making a fool out of yourself.
What we can with some level of certainty say is that she was a loyal, romantic and naïve lover and he is a double faced, deceitful, liar and cheater.
For me the debate is not as much as her involvement/story but just to reaffirm that Capital punishment is a cruel and barbaric and nothing short of a State sanctioned murder. This is regardless of if it is permitted in the name of religion (Shari law) or a man-made-law. The act is the same so its level of barbarity.
ALLGOTTI:
I would not want capital punishment as it is too quick and too easy of punishment. I want life in a miserable dark and cold prison for the killer.

by Simorgh5555 on Thu Dec 02, 2010 08:27 AM PSTAgreed, my friend. But I am a firm believer in "innocent until proven guilty". It means just that. If you can't prove it you are totally innocent. No 'ifs', no 'buts'. Either she was or wasn't. If she was it has to be proven. No debate.
So until someone can prove to me beyong a shadow of a doubt that Shahla had murdered anyone then she should not have spent a single day in prison let alone have her life. I know I'm repeating myself but no murder weapon? No knife? No cime scene report? (There was but it ended up being destroyed) No clothes? No foot prints? No blood marks? No clothes? No particles of skin or hair belonging to Shahla? No marks on Shahla's skin? Did the victim put up a fight? Nothing.
As fat as I am concerned Shahla's death was just as worse and harrowing than that of Neda Agha Soltan.
Simorgh Jan
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Thu Dec 02, 2010 07:59 AM PSTI take a somewhat different approach. The Islamic justice system is so broken that is it not possible for it to determine guilt. Specially in cases like this because of its bias.
Therefore I see no point in arguing guilt. I do not know what happened and to me that is not the issue.
The problem is the system that allows for this travesty. As long as we have that system many people not just Shahla are going to go through it. Many innocents and some "guilty" will be railroaded towards pre-determined guilt.
People who argue for this IRI forget that without a fair process no justice exists for either innocent or guilty. Nor does the victim get any justice from a system which often punished the victims.
Without a fair system NONE of IRI's procedues are legitimate.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Thu Dec 02, 2010 05:51 AM PSTInteresting point. I will give you two responses:
From a personal point of view if someone harms my family I would probably want revenge. I probably want to choke the person with my bare hands. I would also be emotional and unable to tell who the real culprit is.
From a justice point of view that is PRECISELY why it should not be up to me. The victim and the family of the victim are biased. They are emotionally involved and unable to make a fair and rational decision. That is why the Islamic approach of leaving it to the victim is wrong. It results in unequal justice. Some will be more forgiving. Some will be move vengeful. Some will get bought by the offenders money. It makes a travesty of justice giving poor result.
That is why justice must be handed out by people who are not personally involved. We as a society must make a rational decision based on secular law. It is the only way you have a chance of getting a fair result.
Hope you see where I am coming from.

The real culprit
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Thu Dec 02, 2010 04:16 AM PSTis the Islamic system of justice. Without it people will not get away with this behavior. The truth is that people are flawed and will do dumb things. That is why we need to have a decent system of justice which does not allow this.
When you have a legal system that is based on Sharia nothing will be good. So we can blame an individual and perhaps we should. However the vastly larger guilt falls on the people who created the barbaric Islamist Republic and its Western groupies.

by Simorgh5555 on Thu Dec 02, 2010 04:05 AM PSTNasser Mohammadkhani derserves to be reviled as OJ Simpson is in America. A disgraced athlete and one time role model who lived a life of decadaence and then asked the judge that he wanted Qisas. What a complete b#stard. He lead a double life of sex and drugs, cheated on his wife and practically bought Shahla as a prostitute in a 'Sighe' marriage and to top it he asked for the death sentence to be passed against her. As evident in the videos he tries to present himself as a pious religious man with a Hezbolah signature stubble and button up collar shirt so people can forget he smoked drugs all and day all night whilst having sex with a mistress who loved him. I cannot find the words to describe what a despicable man he is.
