Dear yolanda, you may be right about selection based...

on name. Usually I do not like to comment about people's weight; based partially on principle of soozan and javaldooz.  However, since she is not Iranian and therefore possibly not reading these comments, I have to say that you would think that someone who dances for hours every day, would be thinner.

True, if she was 10-15 pounds less, she could isolate her belly muscles better. But as Souri pointed, traditionally belly dancers need the fat layers.

She is comfortable with her body and enjoys the dance so her moves look good to me.

but at this stage of my life I enjoy watching belly dancing, whereas I used to think it was only demeaning to women and as perverse as stripping. Obviously now I think somewhat differently.

It gets very old when you have belly dancers becoming "Iranian" of the day every week several times. Don't you think this kind of crap ruins our image, and they can't find better people? What's the difference bewteen belly dancing and strippers? really? It's an Arab/Egyptian tradition, and I would rather let it stay as one. Btw, I just pointed out that she was arab, so I don't even know why she's Iranian of the day? Not meant to attack her cause of her ethnicity.

The dance's origins and some of the best dancers are all Arabs.

She is a great dancer.  But what I am most impressed by is that although she is a little heavy, she is so comfortable with her body and has a lot of confidence.

Actually, I wouldn't call her chubby. She is just a big girl and in good shape.

If you study this clip very closely, as I have done, you would notice that her stomach is flat and muscular. The type that if you put your hand on it and push, it will push back!

sensitivity class for IC writers would be good

So many IC writers including some women make comments about weight that are insensitive and just makes them look not sophisticated. Some women when they cannot excel in any area, say oh at least I am thin as if that is enough to validate them as a great person worthy of love. If there are guys who choose their love life based on weight, then one hopes that these guys are good looking themselves (manbabe).

About her body , Faramarz jon, this is the body that a real belly dancer should have! By tradition and definition, a real belly dancer is usually a bit chubby,  the tiny tiny body of the today's dancers is not conform to the rules!

The good behavior of the people, warms our heart and make us thankful.....  And the bad ones, just make us to recognize and appreciate the good ones!
