My daughter
by Jahanshah Javid on Sun Dec 12, 2010 03:37 AM PSTTehran: You ask, "how come Jamileh didn't want a different life/career for her daughter??"
If my daughter wanted to become a belly dancer, I'd be very happy for her. It's an art. It celebrates life and beauty.
If she wanted to become a prostitute, I would be very sad. But it's HER life, not mine. It's what SHE WANTS.
Nice, But Not Jamileh
by HHH on Wed Dec 08, 2010 11:03 PM PSTIt took 3 minutes and 30 seconds before the real hip movement started and still not too loose. She needs to gain 5-6 pounds and practice the hip movement and leg movement. I give it 4.5 out of 10.
Got it...

Good recipe, I might make this but no promises.
Thanks
Here is another nice one for her fan club, enjoy!

It seems like she is not into doing the zheleh thing...
I am thinking how come Jamileh didn't want a different life/career for her daughter??

by Ari Siletz on Wed Dec 08, 2010 11:28 AM PSTHere's a video bio on the Sicilian-American belly dance legend.
Here's an old video where Jamila explains the origins and meaning of the belly dance.
Marhaba!
by Jahanshah Javid on Wed Dec 08, 2010 11:23 AM PSTBeautiful, sexy... that smile is a killer.
Not to burst your bubble
by bandeh on Wed Dec 08, 2010 11:07 AM PSTBut I think that is a HE.
Good luck to all of you anyways,
Nice dance
by Tehran on Wed Dec 08, 2010 09:44 AM PSTI like to watch belly dancing, I don't see it as slavery. Nowadays people are free to choose what they want to do with their life and some chose to dance for a living.
This woman in particular has good size everything, breasts, stomach, legs... I didn't like the music, Souri I agree with you on that one.
"A Bitter divorced Man", you need to get sex from somewhere it seems to me that you are in some kind of pain. BTW why are you bitter you should be happy to be single again with all the freedom that comes with it. So what if it didn't work??? Get over it. If I was you I would change my name to "Newly single (and available) hot & happy man". All parts of your name (HOT & HAPPY) don't have to be necessarily true. 24/7, a lot of people lie to get what they want in life. Good luck
Beautiful and fun to watch
by Monda on Wed Dec 08, 2010 08:37 AM PSTand the simple percussion not only does not interfere with the main focus/ Suhaila - but accentuates her moves.
Thank you guys
by Souri on Wed Dec 08, 2010 08:15 AM PSTRedwine jon: Many thanks for the technical information. When it comes to the music, I'm completely nut! But I have a musical ear, as both my sons are playing music since they were little children and I had to help them with the practices.
Anahid jon: You are absolutely right! But I wish I could hear a music with more Arabic tones for this dance.
The good behavior of the people, warms our heart and make us thankful..... And the bad ones, just make us to recognize and appreciate the good ones!
Souri jan, maybe that is why I liked the music
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed Dec 08, 2010 08:09 AM PSTSouri jan, you wrote:"It is more of a Jazz kind, not suitable for a belly dance....unless it is supposed to become a aerobic exercise!"
So what is wrong with that? Excercising with this music, that sounds good to me. Bavafa's wife probably picked up his chin as she was exercising to the music and as part of exercse, going down, she helped him pick up his chin :).
My wife helped me pick up my chin from the floor - gorgeous
by Bavafa on Wed Dec 08, 2010 08:02 AM PSTAnd the dance was OK, music though... was there any music, shoot my attention was else where

موسیقی آرابسک
Red WineWed Dec 08, 2010 07:31 AM PST

by SarGooz Bazandeh on Wed Dec 08, 2010 07:18 AM PSTSamSam, thanks for stating the facts
The music is horrible
by Souri on Wed Dec 08, 2010 07:15 AM PSTThe dance is nice, but that music is horrible. It is more of a Jazz kind, not suitable for a belly dance....unless it is supposed to become a aerobic exercise!
The good behavior of the people, warms our heart and make us thankful..... And the bad ones, just make us to recognize and appreciate the good ones!

Beautiful dance and music
by Anahid Hojjati on Wed Dec 08, 2010 04:20 AM PSTMusic and dance are nice in this video and she has a good figure, as much as the lighting in the video actually allows to see that.
Belly dance slave tradition
by SamSamIIII on Wed Dec 08, 2010 04:08 AM PSTArab nobility & warriors in newly built city of Kuffah were much fond of Iranian slave women doing belly dance in their courts since islamic law prohibits muslim women to do the same. In stories I read Naiim ibn ghahtaan? an omaru general used to hang camel beads & feather clips on these newly arrived ajam kaniz & watch em do belly dance for his guests. There were such surplus of Iranian serfs that soon they were exporting these dancers to centres of slave trade Damascus & medina as gifts or stock.
Guess the Ajam tradition continues. still touchy about persian gulf? haha
Cheers!!!
