by yolanda on Mon Jan 18, 2010 09:51 PM PSTHi! Obama,
LOL! You cracked me up....Yolanda is a Greek name meaning "violet" flower, it is equivalent to Banafsheh in Farsi....
If you visit Tajikistan, please find out if Tajiks are still required to learn Russian....I heard Farsi is the official language in Tajikistan........I am curious if they celebrate Norouz the same way as Iranians.....Do they like Kebabs? Do Tajiks observe Ashura? Do they flagellate themselves? Do Iranians and Tajiks speak the same Farsi? Inter-intelligible? or translations needed ? You can do a blog on the similarities and difference between Iranians and Tajiks.....it should be very interesting topic!
Sorry for all the silly questions. I am always interested in the cultural & language stuff..
thanks,
Sounds good Yolanda! May I ask what does Yo Land a stands4?

by yolanda on Mon Jan 18, 2010 12:20 PM PSTHi! Obama,
If you visit Tajikistan, please post a photo essay on IC if you don't mind....it will be interesting! I have not seen any photos from Tajikistan on IC for the past 2 years. I am really curious who are Tajiks' favorite Persian Poets.
thanks,
Tajiks are our separated brothers from our motherland!
by obama on Mon Jan 18, 2010 12:05 PM PSTWe need to know them better. Unfortunately, not enough work has been done to reconnect us. That makes me think, on my next trip to Iran this year, I am going to visit Tajikestan as well. I'd better start planning now. That would be exciting!
Inaa adam shodan... Maa chi shodim?..
by irannostalgia.com on Mon Jan 18, 2010 11:55 AM PSTAmazingly beautiful. They are selling legal copies of iranian cd's. Which means that the iranian ex-pat companies and artists benefit more from them than from 70 million people inside Iran which have little access to legal copies of iranian expat CD's.
Doshanbe looks interesting too. Amazing how all these countries are improving while iran shrinks under more and more each year.
I wanted to go to Uzbakestan, but they ask for visa and even after that you need an invitation letter . I also hear stories of people stuck in their airports for three hours while they are harrassed with tons of paperwork before they are let in the country.
