Manifesto: We, non-believers, atheists, and ex-Muslims, are establishing or joining the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain to insist that no one be pigeonholed as Muslims with culturally relative rights nor deemed to be represented by regressive Islamic organisations and 'Muslim community leaders'. Those of us who have come forward with our names and photographs represent countless others who are unable or unwilling to do so because of the threats faced by those considered 'apostates' - punishable by death in countries under Islamic law. By doing so, we are breaking the taboo that comes with renouncing Islam but also taking a stand for reason, universal rights and values, and secularism >>>

Give her credit
by MRX1 on Thu Feb 04, 2010 08:53 AM PSTshe is openly challenging islamo freaks ideology. she can easily get killed and/or injured by the supporters of religon of a peace. No place is safe from these animals, be it London, paris, tehran, New york you name it. I salute her courage and agree with her on this issue. The rest of mumbo jumbo communism already met it's fate in a dust bin of history.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Wed Feb 03, 2010 05:31 AM PSTCalm down dude,
She is both an ex-Muslim and a Marxist. So what? Alex already explained the part about Sharia.
As for being a Marxists well everyone makes mistakes. People don't have to agree on every single thing. I agree with her stance on Islam. I disagree with her Marxist ideology.
PS,
She is not a part of the Green Movement so don't worry about her. Besides an large movement will inevitably have people of radically different views. We need to accept not everyone is going to agree with us.
She Was a Muslim According To The Koran.
by AlexInFlorida on Sun Jan 31, 2010 10:52 PM PSTSharia Law states that if your Parents are muslim you are automatically muslim.
So no question this iranian Lady was a muslim anyone who says different is not a muslim or has not read the Koran.
According to Sharia, refusing the gift of Islam is punishable by death, so technically she isn't supposed to denounce Islam.
What a Great Group she has started. In Iran the Green movement could learn from her. Instead of shouting Allah-u-Akbar at night, when Freedom comes to Iran all Iranians will be able to say Ex-Muslim, without the fear of a death sentence.
I am in.
She is a radical marxist. Ex moslem my foot! You never were one!
by obama on Sun Jan 31, 2010 11:27 PM PSTI didn't read or listened to any of her stuff here, but i have read her garbage for a long time and i don't need to read them anymore. She is an opportunist, self centered, bitter, OGHDEH-YEE, and egoistic woman. Marxist go to cuba/Russia not London! Who cares what she says anyway. just verrrr
What is her job and how is she supporting herself? Who pays her salary and pays for videos? One cannot be moslem by name only. Your actions speak louder than ......
People like her actually kill the green movement by tainting it. I would never wanna be part of a movement if people like her are part of it!

It must be real tough in London/UK being "muslim" looking!

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Jan 31, 2010 01:13 PM PSTIslam's time has come and gone. Islam's ideology is tired old and is
no longer valid for the 21st century. Christianity realized this 400
years ago, now it is our turn to throw Islam's tired ideology out of
mainstream society.
1) I agree with you about Islam 100 %.
2) I am not sure if Christianity has been put aside. In the US a significant ~20-30 % of the population are Christian Fundamentalists.
As an agnostic I congratulate you

by Faramarz_Fateh on Sun Jan 31, 2010 11:55 AM PSTYou are my hero Ms. Namazi. Please keep up the good work.
If there is ever going to be an end to the IRI, it will be due to the women of Iran.
First steps but a Great step!

The Brithish Inititive
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Jan 31, 2010 07:40 AM PSTIs in fact very important. The reason is that there are people including the Archbishop of Canterbury who want to put Sharia in British law. They argue that some ethnic groups like Iranians come from "Muslim" societies and should be subject to "Islamic" law. If these voices go unopposed then Sharia law may in fact get implemented. So you get people born to a Muslim family being forced to follow Sharia whether they want it or not. A good example is a girl born to a Muslim family being forced to wear hijab or worse into a forced prearranged marriage.
Ms Namazi correctly identified this danger and is taking action. The official line from Islamists is that once you are born or convert to Islam you will never go. She needs to identify herself as an ex-Muslim to prove the claim is false. She proves that not all people born into Islam chose to remain. She also needs to stand up to the bullying by Muslims and show you can openly leaver Islam. As thousands; then millions of people start to openly leave Islam retribution becomes impossible.

by Princess on Sun Jan 31, 2010 05:00 AM PSTI wish her and this council all the best in their public attempt at liberation and at setting the record straight.
Although I have never considered myself a Muslim, but count me in, too.
Good for you Maryam
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Jan 31, 2010 04:35 AM PSTI spent years apologizing for the actions of "Muslims". Then finally one day I said "I have had enough of it". Why should we be pigeonholed for our race? This is a totally unreasonable thing.
I so much admire you Maraym for coming forth and doing the right thing. You represent the best of the Iranian people. Keep up the good work and my best wishes go to you and your work. My support is now and will always be with you.
Britain has been particularly noxious over its attempts to deal with Islam. Their very attempt at "multiculturalism" is an attempt to put people into boxes. Because someone was born to a mulsim family should not mean life under repression.
Sign me in.
