Moslems were the first slave owners
by jasonrobardas on Mon Jan 25, 2010 08:54 PM PSTBlacks were first enslaved in middle eastern countries . Some black men were even turned into Khoje( men whose testicles were cut off ). They used these emasculated males in their harems ( to manage the women of the harem) .
Where do you think the blacks in Arabic countries came from?
In Koran you do not find one single sura condemning slavery . Neither in the new testament or the old testament . In the old testament , slavery is actualy encouraged " the offspring of those who were born from your slaves are also yours to keep "
Such comment from a bearded moslem is in line with the way Islam views blacks .
Mohammad owned and traded slaves...

جناب پلفسول جواتی
Nader VanakiWed Jan 27, 2010 04:44 AM PST

Siah is the key word
by deepMagenta on Mon Jan 25, 2010 04:41 PM PSTI haven't read all the comments, so my aplogies if sombody else has already said what I have to say.
The word "Kaka" is not that important in here. It is more importarn that this egomeniac (runs in his family) meant to
1- insult Obaba and
2- he used the word "Siah",
which refers to the Obama's color of skin. So, it is simple when you consider his though process and intent. That is racist to me.
i think bache tehruni is
by hamsade ghadimi on Mon Jan 25, 2010 03:45 PM PSTi think bache tehruni is different than bache susul. bache tehruni includes the tehrun susuls, jahels (including ahmadi supporters), nerds.... you get my drift. it's someone from tehrun. i'm sure you have all those kinds in shiraz and minab as well.
i don't think you really understood my story. my freind "ali" from bushehr got into a misunderstanding with a kaka from abadan (let's call him ahmad) who had just came to class and was sitting next to him. they sat in the nimkat in front of me. neither was a bache tehruni nor a susul. ahmad may have been a little defensive having just come from abadan. at any rate, they had a little physical altercation but no beating up. they were both ba'marefat and became good freinds for the entire year. and there was never any mention of kaka siah.
so what was your point?
Well that was my point Hamsade
by Abarmard on Mon Jan 25, 2010 01:51 PM PSTAll Abadani ba'marefat and generally Southern warm blooded kids would get mad at those (specifically) "bacheh <susul> Tehranis" who always acted as if they knew more than they actually did. So it wasn't the Kako that they were mad at. The beating was to teach a lesson. Unfortunately some never learn.
It wasn't the kako. Next time you tell the story, at least you know the real reason for the fight.

Yes I have learned something new here.

by hamsade ghadimi on Mon Jan 25, 2010 01:25 PM PSTi'm not getting into a pissing contest on who's more of a southerner. at any rate, i agree with you that you "do not know." at least, i'm glad that you finally know the meaning of kaka siah. but if you're still not sure, maybe you can start a telephone survey in iran (sargord sefr knows all about them).
Plus
by Abarmard on Mon Jan 25, 2010 01:19 PM PSTYou can start a fight with someone who says "bacheh Tehrani". It depends how they say it and why they are saying it, right?
I am originally from the South
by Abarmard on Mon Jan 25, 2010 01:03 PM PSTShiraz And Minab. All family members are from south, and I just got off the phone with my cousin in Bandar Abbas and Mr. Hamsade Ghadimi, he did not agree with your explanation.
I am sure that there are areas that some people might get upset at some words based on their local cutlure. Specially in the south that was always based on neighborhoods and territories. I do not know. However about this person, I agree that he should immediately apologize for his remark.

by hamsade ghadimi on Mon Jan 25, 2010 12:51 PM PSTi'm not a scholar in this area nor have i read scholarly works on slavery in iran. however, i've explained what i know through my personal observations and knowledge. good luck on your research.
practically everyone (with a exception of a few like abarmard) in iran knows "kaka siah" is a derogatory word. even kaka by itself is contentious. once a friend of mine who was from bushehr called a new kid in our class who had dark skin and had come from abadan "kaka." in a blink of an eye, the abadani kid who was much bigger and more muscular grabbed my bushehri friend's collar and pushed him against the wall in the schoolyard. only after i explained the abadani that my friend was from bushehr that he apologized. this all happened in tehran. there's certainly an unwritten protocol in using this term. i do regulary call my shirazi friends kako without any ramifications; but i've known them for a long time and they also call me kako. :)

DO NOT BE A FOOLMARD, ABARMARD
by Demo on Mon Jan 25, 2010 11:35 AM PSTReminding you that Latijain is a so called Berkley graduate and knows well the connection between the N word & the “Kaka Siah.” Our people also know well the connection between “Kaka Siah” & "Bardeh", "Gholum", “Hajii Firooz”, “Dalghak” , and etc. He could not use the word “Amoo (Uncle) Tom” because not many there know the story behind it. Was not that better if he would have used Obama’s middle name “Hosein” to reach into his heart & our people’s hearts???
Also reminding you that IRI fought his “Muslim Brothers (Kakas)” in Iraq for 8 years just because they were under “Sadam Hosein” (A Sunni Muslim) leadership & not under Maliki (A Shiah Muslim)!!!! Guess who was the real winner of that bloody war, Kaka???

by hamsade ghadimi on Mon Jan 25, 2010 10:42 AM PSTi pretend that you just don’t have any familiarity with southern iranian culture, the term “kaka siah,” or did not read dehkohoda’s comment (below) and explain this term to you in real simple terms. the term kaka mostly used in the persian gulf region, or kako used mostly in shriraz region, or kakoo as used in kerman, means brother. it’s the kind of word that iranian southerners interchangeably address each other (i.e., a shirazi calling a bandari kaka or kako). even within the context of only kaka, the southerners in iran are a bit sensitive toward a non-southerner calling them kaka (or kako or kakoo). many southerners perceive it as patronizing. very similar to african americans using the “n” word as brother (they don’t like others calling them by that word). now add to it siah, meaning black brother which refers to a slave (see dehkhoda’s definition below) is a derogatory term with its’ closest meaning in the english language to the “n” word. as you know, in iran, we don’t refer to a dark-skinned southerner a “kaka siah” unless we want to make fun of them, itching for a fight, or both. the reason for that is the derogatory “house slave” meaning. by the way, i’ve heard many southerners call each other kaka, kako, or kakoo but never kaka siah. needless to say, there’s no other reason but insult when someone of authority in iran calls obama a “kaka siah” from a podium.
Dear Abramand
by MM on Mon Jan 25, 2010 10:34 AM PSTKaa-Kaa may well be brother, but in the context that was used, it referred to Obama in a condescending manner, basically saying who is this ……, in a negative racist connotation. Otherwise, Larijani could have well used baraadar-obaamaa instead.
I have never heard any of these folks refer to any Basijis as Kaa-Kaa-sefeed or Kaa-Kaa-Basij? No, it is always, baraadar-e basiji.
