PAAIA: January 14, 2010, Washington, D.C. - Rudi Bakhtiar has stepped down from her position as the Director of Public Relations for the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA) to join the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran.
“I feel that Iran is at a critical juncture in its struggle for democracy, and the best way those of us in Diaspora can help is by giving a voice to those inside the country who have none,” says Bakhtiar.
Bakhtiar says the International Campaign for Human Rights is recognized as the number one human rights organization when it comes to information on Iran, with a network of connections inside and outside the country that allow the NGO to produce and disseminate accurate accounts of human rights abuses there >>>

by Saraamin on Mon Jun 07, 2010 04:28 AM PDTI just saw her in For neda movie and I google-ed her name up . I think , by joining the campaign for human rights in iran -even if
Contagious Iranian cynism claims whatsoever-she did a great career move. also I couldnt guess how old is she, anybody has any idea ?drop me a line.
Rudi's a humanitarian
by Ramona on Tue Jan 19, 2010 05:03 PM PSTI cannot understand the extent of negative scepticism of some Iranians. If anything, moving over to the human rights organization was a "step down" in her financial ranking, though it increases the esteem of many for her.
Neither is her decision based on personal/political conflicts. When can people see a deed for what it is, instead of projecting their own personal opinions and motivations upon others? I salute Rudi for her noble career move. Best of luck to her and all other humanitarians.
Smart move
by mahmoudg on Sat Jan 16, 2010 08:51 AM PSTshe was perhaps fed up with one of the founders of this organization and his wife. I have warned this before and she came to this reality. good move Rudy.
Finally...

Each is looking for their own
by mannya2001 on Fri Jan 15, 2010 02:33 PM PSTI hope I'm wrong, but I think it all comes down to salary and making ends meet.
Politcal organizations like PAAAI , NAIC are not eligible for US grants.
Other organizations perhaps like International Human Rights for Iran might be eligible for US grants. Therefore, there is less pressure to actually try to raise money. Plus such organizations allow for more exposure.
Rudi should have stayed at CNN and volunteered for on ground reporting from hostile areas- that would have been the best and yet most dangerous career move.
Anyways, Best of Luck- after all in this world, you gotta do what you got do to make it through!
I still admire Rudi and hope she doesn't turn out like that other "tool" and "publicity seeker" called Nazanin whatever from Canada.
Thanx Rudi
