Independence from US/UK/USSR etc. not the same as freedom
by obama on Sat Jan 23, 2010 09:39 PM PSTYou can have internal freedom, at the same time be controlled by other countries or organizations such as CIA. Yes, if you have a true democracy theoritically should lead to independence.
I have no problem with this thug as an individual. I have problem with the regime that is run by these types of thugs. Every society has gangsters and this is not unusual. In fact, it could be useful when you need them to fight the enemies of your country who use the same type of idiots to fight you.
The problem is when these people are fighting against your own people. That's when you it should be destroyed and replaced with a democratic system. I doubt however that we would have a true democratic system even after we overthrow this one. Sad, but true.
we should feel sorry

Satanic Faces of Islam
by Arash Monzavi-Kia on Sat Jan 23, 2010 03:25 PM PSTI do not conform – I do not bend.
I am the infidel,
the apostate,
the scum of this earth.
The brothers take pride in kicking me,
in punching my face.
They enjoy denying my pain.
Dragging my bound hands,
smashing my blinded head.
There is only darkness here,
where the feces of those jailed before me, rots;
where I sleep – standing up.
The pious jail masters rape,
with their batons and their clubs.
Lest their body is sullied,
with my blood, with my shame.
Islam is offering love and care?
From jail to jail?
I can’t see their faces through the veil,
but they are serving pain, in all flavors and smells.
استقلال، آزادی، جمهوری ایرانی
benrossSat Jan 23, 2010 04:22 PM PST
With all due respect, and for the sake of better representing your own preference, please note that just because a slogan rhymes with Islamic revolution slogans and is being used, like other slogans that rhyme, to dissuade intense repressive reaction by the regime, it doesn't mean that people have already made their choice clear. What is an 'Iranian' republic anyway, as opposed to 'non Iranian' republic?
If you have freedom, you have independence too. If you have freedom, you'll be able to democratically choose the future system of Iran too. This kind of manipulative approach to what is going on in Iran is a little bit akhoondi.

been like that for 30 years, now even americans know it
by mahmoudg on Sat Jan 23, 2010 09:55 AM PSTOur Iran has been controlled by thugs who have been brainwashed by Islam far too long. they will be cleansed only if we sideline Islam. We can do it, we sidelined one religion 1400 years ago for another. We were the first world empire to do so. We can once again be at the forefront of the civilized world and show them that we indeed can sideline and even throw Islam out in favor of a true book of constitution. to that day, i shall drink a good glass fo wine.
Criminal gangs control Iran! They are all Laate ADAM KOSH!
by obama on Sat Jan 23, 2010 09:11 PM PSTThis is how they have controlled the country all these years, intimidation, imprisonment, savagery and fear. Has worked so far.
The good news is, it is now all in the open for all to see. I had been told about this kind of things by insiders many years ago. Now I see the evidence! Are we frustrated enough to fight these thugs? They will fight you as long as you are running away.
not really
by mannya2001 on Fri Jan 22, 2010 08:03 PM PSTIf this guy was controlling things, he wouldn't be crticizing IRIB. He wouldn't have to go around and lecture to make a living.
He is a nut job, and feels IRI has abandoned him and other "mazlooms." He clearly is upset he didn't financially benefit nor did he get any high positions, so he is just angry at everyone. He kinda like "Dennis Kucinich"- not mentally fit and ready for a high and trusted position because he is too emotional/radical.
Velayate Vahshi
by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Jan 22, 2010 07:51 PM PSTIt is people like this man who control Iran. The law is in their hands. There are no reasonable, rational, moderate forces with any influence. Those who continue to support the Islamic Republic must realize that they are in fact supporting this kind of savage behavior with Khamenei's full knowledge and endorsement. This why the Islamic Republic and all that it represents has lost the people's trust. It is dead inside. It lives and thrives on violence, ignorance and superstition. It's over. It's over.
Stupidity!!!
by Benyamin on Fri Jan 22, 2010 07:07 PM PSTThis guy talks as if he owns the people of Iran and that they are his slaves! he believes no respect or dignity for iranian people. They have been rulling Iran for the past 30 years and all they could do is triple poverty so they would enable them to rule some more ironicaly they swept to power to irradicate poverty now we know why they never intended to rid iran of poverty because they want to rule. This guy is out to pick a fight and if anyone after watching this clip still thinks Islamists are going to leave the scene after a few demonstrations is wrong these guy are ready to kill and they actually believe in killing their own kids none the less you or me.
