Islamic Haircuts

Official styles imposed by the government in crackdown on "un-Islamic" looks

New York Times: The photos, disseminated on Iran’s semiofficial news sites, look ordinary enough: young men with short haircuts, some with 1950s-style quiffs and a touch of gel on top. But these haircuts are not just a summer fashion. They are being promoted by Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance as Islamically permissible models, part of an effort “to halt the spread of unconventional styles and promote Islamic culture.” More styles are set to be unveiled Sunday as part of the ministry’s Veil and Chastity Day festival. The haircut catalog is part of the Iranian government’s long-running battle against Western cultural influence. Every summer, the country’s morality police renew their crackdown on “un-Islamic” dress and styles, including loose veils on women and long hair or ponytails on men >>>

Hair Restoration

by prince 042 on

Is a surgical  technique that involves moving skin containing hair follicles from one part of the body (the donor site) to bald or balding parts (the recipient site).  Hair
Restoration
It is primarily used to treat male pattern baldness, whereby grafts containing hair follicles that are genetically resistant to balding are transplanted to bald scalp.

it turns out that the aerial ports that the IRI claims it has built were actually built in the U.S. in the 1960's and were purchased by the Shah.  The IRI just put a new paint job on them and paraded them out as "home built" aerial ports... :-))

Cost-of-Progress

The Iranians

by Cost-of-Progress on

have no other problems than to worry about their hair cuts. Why not force everyone to wear a dang turban? Problem solved, ay?
Are these freaking people for real? How long before everyone says: baa baa shuma fekr mikonid maa cheghadr kharim?

BTW, OI jon, I heard that a team of elite islamist scientists (LOL) have devised a plan to build Aerial Ports for Iranian jetliners to allow passengers to board or deplane above major cities in Europe to get around this minor inconvenience of not being able to land there.....These ports use special divine anti-gravity forces (powered by Emam-e Zaman) to hover in the air above cities. Once there, the passengers are given an oxygen mask and a parachute to desend to their final destination on the ground.....

Rea they actually do.

Some "men" and sometimes his family will ask the bride's family to provide them with a "certificate".  In that case the bride goes to a clinic offering these services to get tested and upon passing she'll get a certificate.

Of course just as corruption with anything else is rampant in Iran, these clinics can be bribed to issue a fake certificate.  The "man" who wants to depend on a certificate and doesn't know the difference won't notice it anyway!

Everything is sacred

Onlyiran

How sad - Typical "akhoond" mentality

by Onlyiran on

They just banned their airplanes from flying to European cities, and this is what they're doing...picking on people for their hairstyles and harassing women for "hejab".  reminds me of a movie that I saw a long time ago---Caravan---where something serious was happening, but an akhoond managed to take people's attention away because some guy was peeing standing up (or committing some other "sin").

That's why Iran under the IRI has regressed at least three decades in science and social development.

PS-watch, now a whole bunch of IRI goons are going to poor in here to tell us how "technologically advanced" IRI has become...LOL :-))

They want to show they are in charge. Nothing is wrong and everything is under control. The earth is not shattering beneath them and there is nothing to destabilize the regime. Not a hint.

I bet a good part of the 'leaders' of the green will gladly get busy with complaining about this haircut restrictions. They are the 'opposition' after all!
