(Reuters) - An explosion at a state-run petrochemical plant in the Gulf island of Kharg killed four people on Saturday and injured others, Iran state-run television reported. "An explosion from a gas leak occurred on Saturday evening around 7:00 p.m., but it was extinguished at 12:00 (a.m.) by firefighters", the governor of Boushher province, who was only identified by his family name Jahnbakhsh, said about the National Petrochemical Co. plant on Iran State TV. Iran, the world's fifth-largest crude oil exporter, has had a good record of safety in its oil and petrochemical plants despite sanctions imposed on its nuclear programme, which have limited development of Iran's oil sector.
