Regarding  non violance I agree with Benross. There are times when action is needed. If someone attacks my family and is raping or killing them you bet I will do anything. The IRR is raping and killing Iranians. This is not the British occupation of India. Islamists do not understand civilized language.

At some point, towrds the end, the last of the IR rresistance must be defused and it shall require physical force.

BTW -Great Job Saman and Kambiz.  It is amazing how some youngsters can come up with 30 minuites of simple yet quality programming each week, while herds of so called LA TV Sattellite professionals can't come up with 10 minutes of decent programming in 30 years.

The concept of "non

by benross on

The concept of "non violence" is very misleading. Devoid of any substance, and it leads to ridiculous arguments as the ones exchanged in this show. This is because it is formulated based on 'form' not 'content'. Human history without some sort of violence doesn't exist. What is focused on this particular formulation is a form as opposed to another form. The guerrilla movement was also defined, not based on any content but a form. Which in itself was devoid of any substance. If you want to focus on real modern values, then focus on them and let the struggle take shape in any form that is convenient for the message and content it carries.

We often tend to forget that what made the aftermath of the election a historic turning point, in a major part, was those young people trowing stones at the armed forces of repression. It was that demonstration of 'resolve' that was giving courage to others to protest. The message is not violence. It's 'resolve'. Nonetheless, the stones were thrown and the pictures were taken and those pictures were recycled ever-since as a demonstration of the strength of its message.

When we distance ourselves from the substance and get stranded by the 'form', we often betray our own pretense as well. The hoopla surrounding the clash of Israeli forces on the sea is often promoted by those who advocate 'non violence' for Iranian situation. They conveniently forget that freedom of expression was never an issue inside or outside Israel to justify such violence in challenging a prohibited action.
