Don't ever try to lessen the greatness of the Persian Empire

by comparing it to the b...s... written in the Quran, or other un-holly books for that matter.

I am of the belief that once Greatness has been instilled within the bosom of a nation and a people, that it never truly leaves them, even if they go into a decline!

The Arab invasion created a break up and a discontinuity that has yet to be repaired and mended - I am not delusional in the sense that the task of restoring our Greatness would be an easy one - Because it wouldn't be - However, we owe it to our forefathers of the past, and to our Great  Generations yet to come, to do our very best!

I would like to leave you with this note: The Great Iran that inspires us through our hearts, souls, and spirits, is the Iran of Kouroush and Dariush - A 'Can Do' Iran - Not an inferior Iran (Persia) of post-Arab invasion!

Never Forget That .....

I agree with you that Iran after the Arab invasion has never been able to regain it's glory. The reason is that we are not the same people anymore. Imagining of being a Persian is just a dream.  There is not going to be anyone like Cyrus, Darius or Shapur in Iran anymore.  But majority of Iranians do have Omar mentality and gentic. Our elites nowadays are people like Khomeini, Ahmadinejad, Janati and thousands other arab thugs who taken over our land.

I agree with you and I have same wish for Iran & Iranians to realize what negative influence Arabs & Its Islamic culture has had on them and rid themselves from it.  Thanks for your great response.

Cyrus The Great

by Ferfereh on

After 31 years struggle to destroy our history and culture, specially trying to wiping out the Cyrus name from our history, Islamic regime have decided to go to plan B and make Cyrus an Islamic figure, but where in Islam's history when they conquered a land and didn't kill all men and didn't rape all women and children and then make them slaves, didn't burn all books, ...... they did all these when they invaded our country. I'm 110% certain that Cyrus would be shamed to be linked to Islam.

A Bit Of Light ...

Our Great King, Kourosh-e Kabir (Cyrus The Great), has been numerously referenced in the Old Testament of the Bible as the Great Liberator of the Jews. The Jews were under bondage and slavery in Babylon under King Belshazzar  when the Great Persian Empire defeated Babylon!

The Zartoshti Religion (Zoroastrianism) pre-dates all the Abrahamic Religions: Judaism, Christianity and Islam! It was the first religion in the near-east to bring about the concept of Monotheism (Yekta-Parasti)!

It needs to be said that the greatest era of the Glory Of The Persian Empire occurred during the Achaemenid (Hakhamaneshi) dynasty , and then during the Sassanid (Sassanian) dynasty - They are respectively referred to by historians as The First Iranshahr, and The Second Iranshahr!

It needs to be also said that after the Arab invasion of Persia, our beloved Iran (Persia) has never been able to regain the Greatness that it once had!

The Muslim religion may have had a civilizing effect on the Arabs, who were truly savages prior to the coming of Mohammad (ie. by burying their daughters alive, etc.), however, its positive impact on the Great Persian Culture and Civilization is highly questionable! The present IRI is a reflection of that culture in the present-day Iran!

Unfortunately, towards the end of the Sassanian dynasy, the weakness of the Persian Empire in general, and the King at the time, Yazdgerd III, in particular, allowed the invasion of our beloved land by a bunch of inferior people and civilization, namely the Arabs!

My sincerest hopes are that all the negative influences of this foreign culture be one day totally and completely stripped away from our Beloved Iran!

Pure And Simple :) - !
