by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sat Nov 27, 2010 10:44 AM PSTI am not going to argue with you since your mind is made up. If we all felt the way you do there would be nothing of Iran but a memory.
I have a problem with people who complain but offer no solution. Feeling sorry for ourselves and wallowing in gloom is a prescription for death.
Regarding "Persian": I grew up in Iran and with the Persian I learned I could understand Fredowsi. You call it what you want.
If you have any ideas I am all ears. But if you just want to complain and spread gloom I have better things to do.
Happy Thanksgiving!

by SamSamIIII on Fri Nov 26, 2010 04:06 PM PSTKazem ;
That's reverse progress, once IRI are dead and gone we will call everything the way it is ie in PARSI including Sepahan and ekbatan.
hehe :), are you sure brother..saali keh nekoost az baharash paidast.. this khodesh khoshk misheh miofteh gone for a thousand yrs & way before IRI..IRI is a convenient scapegoat..its us.. as Ferdowsi witnessed it himself then. no initiatives no gain. Cheers!!!
VPK; Amou, If you feel you won the argument then more power to you since its not possible to wake up the ones who are pretending to sleep. Being able to read Ferdowsi is no benchmark for the argument but what average folks write or talk such as the essays on this very site. paying lip service, being "Mote'asseb" ;) or playing real estate patriot by us wont change the reality at the end of the day but personal initiatives might. I never said "Persian/Parsi" is a dialect of Arabic but "Farsi" and to mix up the two is a disservice to beautiful Parsi and if you insist then why dont you write your replies or blogs in todays Farsi & if it passes the test then i be cheering for your effort. Cheers!!!
btw*You two are too hot blooded & its a good thing since Iran needs more of you. Yet, denying reality added with passivity borders ignorance and thru ignorance comes loss of identity as we have tolerated for too long.

by kazem0574 on Fri Nov 26, 2010 11:53 AM PSTGood, lets hope there a lot more like me and you out there. I see too many people here saying hey what the heck let it go.
No lets not let it go and as soon as we can, lets reverse what has gone on and go back to becoming Parsi again.
IRI changes names like " noghlo Nabat" and it works for them, we can do the same when the time comes.
Will Ferrel in patriotic American flag thong!

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Nov 26, 2010 07:01 AM PSTYou often say sensible things. But some of your statements are so off as to be ridiculous.
I remember in another blog you argued that "Persian" is just a dialect of Arabic. Some of us argued against it and won. I for one pointed out that with my knowledge of Modern Persian I can read Shahnameh and with a bit of help "Karnamake Ardeshire Papkan". How is that for some Arabic! Now you are arguing the because of the past 1400 years we should give up.
If we took your advise we would just dig a hole and crawl in it. I am not going to give up. It takes time to reverse some of the damage. We should absolutely not let more of it happen. There will be ups and downs; we don't give up when we hit a block.

There is that moon crescent going up, from where you know .......:)
Really too funny!
I think this year, they all did an effort to amuse the people
PS_ I did chagne my post. Thanks to Yolanda, I've corrected the name of the country (from China to Singapore).
SamSam, how about "North Arabia" instead of Iran
by kazem0574 on Fri Nov 26, 2010 01:59 AM PSTOK then you have done such a good job and based on your logic and the defence of the Arabian Gulf name lets let Arabs change Iran's name too.
Hey what's a name between an Arab or two, or as you kind of suggest an nearly Arab or two. When soon they ask for Iran to be called "North Arabia" we must all say, hey what the heck they made everything else Arabic so what.
Reza Shah started to change a lot of Arab institution names, even IRI I hear are starting to use more Persian words. It would be strange to now start going back to Ghajar days and beyond.
That's reverse progress, once IRI are dead and gone we will call everything the way it is ie in PARSI including Sepahan and ekbatan.
Arabian Gulf & sheer hypocracy of us Iranians
by SamSamIIII on Thu Nov 25, 2010 05:13 PM PSTArabs have every right to call it that since you cant dictate other ethnicity as how to respect your heritage when you fail yourself....this funny business gets even funnier and bizzar when we the "Persians" call it "Khalij Fars", itself made up of one arabic word & the other, an arabized version of Parss..self respect is not given but earned so you cant blame arabs for what they see in their clear view of a nation so obcessed to copy them be it the arabic dialect they speak or the arabic script they write with or the arabic names or even calender they utilize,,a nation whose even judiciary laws all the way to mundane stuff such as engagement & marriage wows are written in arabic is at best playing dumb when acts offended about this issue.
Geee, get a grip..we used to call even our so called Fars(bastion of Persianness) province up to a century ago as "Eragh-e Ajam"..how more shameless could it get? , we call sepahan as Arabized esfahan, Ekbatan as hamedan, have named every other town or village as hossein abad or asghar abad & change lake Uramia to rezaiieh yet we are still offended when Arabs mess with one needle in a hay stack. & I bet i know why we.re so sensitive to this one...well to us it seems the persian gulf is the last handle we got left to show to the world atleast on google earth that we are not completely "them" yet + "Persian" sound more like Prussians, Russian or Parisian just in case God forbid us nabils or nasirs are mistaken for arabs ...come on , come clean and tell the truth..aint it?...& as for our buddie Ghaem. his name says it all :)).
Cheers!!!
&btw, amou Javaid is right, its only a name ..on that note would he gracefully change the ownership of this site to my name since afterall its only a name ..my name his name ..whats a name between friends ;:).
