US pistachio farmers are reaping the benefits of a ban on Iranian pistachios, which are included in the latest round of sanctions against the country for refusing to curtail its nuclear activities. Rob Reynolds reports from California.

A part of me really hates to
by Sargord Pirouz on Wed Nov 10, 2010 12:56 AM PSTA part of me really hates to admit this, but California pistachios taste better than the ones I've recently had from Iran. But California's are certainly more expensive than they should be.

This is
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Tue Nov 09, 2010 06:07 PM PSTtotally asinine act by the idiots in US congress. As if that will make any difference. The other thing they banned is importation of rugs. Two perfectly legitimate items. If they were serious they would go after the real money.
The West holds vast amounts of stolen money of IRI leaders. Why not confiscate those. Instead they hit the average Iranian farmer or weaver. The duplicity and bad faith on both sides is sickening. No wonder US foreign policy is a mess.
The trading company seems suspicious and no prices!
by Anonymouse on Tue Nov 09, 2010 12:03 PM PSTI don't know how this embaro on pistachios is going to play out but I remember the customs giving me some grief about pistachios few years ago when it was legal to bring them.
Looks like each person can bring up to $100 in gifts or individual consumption into the US but I don't know how it'll play out.
If anyone has brought pistachios from Iran into US please let us know if it is normal like before or problematic.
Everything is sacred
