AmirAhmadi
by khaleh mosheh on Sun Oct 31, 2010 07:40 AM PDTshowed himself as being totally in the pocket of IRI.
That was the point of the Interview and remarkably beautifully illustrated. almost 'a few good men'esque
//www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOYGbM3nK9k
The best parazit interview I have had the good fortune to watch.
Case proved- QED. Well done Kamibiz
is this the son of famous
by Fatollah on Sun Oct 31, 2010 04:31 AM PDTis this the son of famous Sepahbod AmirAhmadi? Given the Shahanshahi history of Iran, not sure what the father whispered in the ears of junior that shaped this character!
No wonder Pahlavi lost his throne!
Kamiz H. did very well, why do you underestimate his abilities? because he's young? "shoma mossen-tar-a che kar a nakardid ke be nasle javantar khord-e migirid"!
p/s Ghavam and Mossadeq comparison was unnecessary and nothing to do with this interview, Agha "kam avvord" had to resort to analogies.
Nader Vanaki, parazit audience is young too!
by MOOSIRvaPIAZ on Sun Oct 31, 2010 02:49 AM PDTYou may have a point but seem to forget that his audience is young too. If a guy like Amirahmadi is misunderstood its his own fault for not speaking up clearly about his views/intentions. Again he is his own worst enemy.
Dear Masoud
by aynak on Sat Oct 30, 2010 10:17 PM PDTEven with my twin brother I agree no closer than 75~80% of the time so we are doing pretty good :)
As far as Qhavams character, he has a mixed legacy, a very complex career as a sophisticated Iranian politicain. Not sure if we want to discuss this here, but I don't think anyone can dismiss him based only on the end of his career. Although in that regard, I would consider him not as a traitor, but as someone who had no faith in people nor anything to be possible without the big powers approval. He had signed a deal with the Soviets on oil which was easily dismissed by the next Majless, and I think he wanted to play the Brits as well. But that is a long separate discussion, back to interview ....
At any rate, even if you think the worst of Qhavam still there is very little argument that Amir Ahmadi is not even remotely close to the caliber of polititician Qhavam was.
Watching this show, Kambiz allowed Amir Ahmadi have his say, while disappointing people by Amir Ahmadi saying this is what they deserve basically and Kambiz let him get away with it.
At the most basic level, Kambiz could have asked how can you who has never held any position in the government and spent most of your life outside Iran and in self imposed exile and have had no influence whatsoever as an elected official but play as a middle man, with some political advise, compare to a seasoned politician who was for a period very popular as well?
Kambiz could have said, Ghavam, when he went against Mossadegh was thrown out within 5 days ......what makes you (Amir Ahmadi) who has no recognition in Iran believe you can out fox Ahmadi Nejad (even in that lame comparison)?
Parasit is sort of like Stewarts daily show, I argue even more important based on the mixed audience. Neither is supposed to be a light show, even though they express their view in a satirical format.
I still maintain Kambiz did not do his homework, but may be with Amir Ahmadi in the show, then again may be I don't know the true intent of Kambiz (or rather the producers) of the show.
Kambiz Hosseini is Too Young
by Nader Vanaki on Sat Oct 30, 2010 04:11 PM PDTto interview Amirahmadi and no one here got the joke that Amirahmadi played on him. The whole Mossadegh and Ghavam discussion is for illustration of a point and not a direct comparison. Kambiz is too young to challenge someone like Amirahmadi. Look at the man's resume and he has done serious developement studies for Iran and I think he did an excellent job in fending off attacks from Kambiz Hosseini. Besides, he has never hidden his intentions and has been very open about it-that is why I admire him.
Aynak jaan
by Masoud Kazemzadeh on Sat Oct 30, 2010 03:12 PM PDTAynak jaan,
I agree with about 90 to 95 percent of your posts. This is one of those rare occasions that I disagree.
1. This is a political satire and not an in-depth analytical show. I personally love this show and watch it consistently.
2. AmirAhmadi was wearing the green handkerchief on purpose to subconsciously attract the emotional support of greens inside Iran (there is scholarly literature on this and many films and ads use these). By explicitly forcing AmirAhmadi to take a public stand on whether he supports greens or Ahmadinejad and explicitly using the green handkerchief, Kambiz totally destroyed Amirahmadi’s plan. Whether or not Kambiz realized what he did, he actually hugely undermined Amirahmadi in the eyes of millions of young Iranians who watch the show.
3. Amirahmadi thinks very highly of himself. But by publicly saying that he is the current Qavam in Iran, he make any knowledgeable person to laugh at him. He should have said that he follows the path and methods of Qavam. You are right Qavam was the person who wrote the actual letter of Mozzafar aldin Shah authorizing the Constitution. Qavam played a major role in compelling Stalin to leave Iranian territory. Although Truman threatening of nuking USSR played the major role, but Qavam provided the face-saving way for Stalin to leave and not look weak against the U.S.
4. Qavam had close relationship with British interests and political elites, including the MI6. He also played with Tudeh party and the Shah. Amirahmadi sees himself like Qavam. Amirahmadi is saying he is elastic and is willing to work with ANY one.
5. What has made Qavam hated in Iran is that he collaborated with the British (MI6) in July 1952 against the national interests of Iran. What Qavam did was to collaborate with the colonial British forces to destroy our independence and sovereignty. At one of the most crucial moments of our history that we needed all the forces to help our independence and freedom, he committed the treason of the worst kind. For his role in 30 Tir, 1331, Qavam will be despised by Iranian nationalists.
6. The notion that the reactionary bellicose moron Ahmadinejad is comparable with liberal democratic, non-violent Mossadegh is promoted by the most stupid supporters of the terrorist regime and is laughable. It does not even pass the giggle test. I think Kambiz’s reaction was sufficient. It is like someone saying the earth is flat. The best reaction is to mock it and laugh at it, because it is soooooooooooooo ridiculous that one does not need long discussion to disprove it. When the pro-terrorist regime forces began this comparison, we in JM immediately and successfully attacked and refuted their propaganda. So, today, little discussion is needed and just mocking should do the job.
Best regards,
Masoud
Politics of satire
by comrade on Sat Oct 30, 2010 12:28 PM PDTIn my opinion president Evo Morales is a genuine socialist and a clean union activist who does not fit in satirical genre of this show.
Never increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything.

Amir Ahmadi Proves he knows very little about history
by aynak on Sat Oct 30, 2010 09:07 AM PDTwith that idiotic comparision. Of course in his twisted illusion, Ahmadi Nejad is Mossadegh! and Amir Ahamdi is Qhavam?!
Mr.AmirAhamadi:
Show me in one instnance when Mossadegh insulted other country leaders or nations?
Mossadegh was able to lead oil nationalization effort. What is the parallel?
Qhavam played a key role in constitutional revolution, you don't even believe there is anything wrong with VF system constitution. What is the parallel?
Qhavam was a well known character in politics and popular, do Iranian people even know you?
The problem is, Kambiz Hosaeini does not have the fluency or knowledge to handle Amir Ahmadi's out right lies and distortions so instead he picks on superficial things like the color of his tie, and does not have the expertise to keep Amir Ahmadi honest. So Amir Ahmadi gets a way with the crap he says.
It is true that our biggest problem has been to focus on what we don't want rather what we want. But we don't need AmirAhamdi's "wisdsom" for that.
از کرامت شیخ ما این است، شیره را خورد گفت شیرین است
amir ahmadi
by Niloufar Parsi on Sat Oct 30, 2010 04:42 AM PDTwas fairly good at exposing the bias and frivolity of the interviewer. despite repeated and poorly informed interruptions, ahmadi managed to keep his cool for the most part.
didn't expect any better from VoA. but they could try and sound a little less propagandist and a touch more sophisticated with their material. they must use graduates from the same journalism school as IRIB!
but it's quite funny in parts. gotta give the kid that!
He was right
by iamfine on Fri Oct 29, 2010 08:21 PM PDTMr. Amir Ahmadi was right about one thing. We Iranians have the habit of complaining and don't know what we want. When shah was ruling the country, Iranians rejected him. When Bakhtiar came along, people replaced him with Khomaini. The same is true with others. We just can't get along wit each other as well as other countries.
Amir Ahmadi (nejad) has no problems with velayat Faghih?
by pas-e-pardeh on Fri Oct 29, 2010 06:04 PM PDTOr with IRI's constiution?
Or, with Ahamadinejad?
And, he says he is a democrat? Gimme a break!
I almost threw up listening to him.
By the way, great questioning by the host.. Afarin!
