They have seen the error of their ways
by kazem0574 on Sat Oct 30, 2010 01:48 PM PDTThe most fundamental and stringent followers of an ideology could in time dismiss the very core belief that constructed the essence of that ideology, and in some cases may even become major elements in deconstructing the very ideology itself.
Sazegara and certain other people, are genuinely trying to put the past behind them and help Iran towards a secular future. It would be crazy for us to now tell them that once you have helped free Iran from the claws of IR, we will thank you by prosecution and imprisonment.
Although I believe that some of these people will happily take the threat of such future persecution on the chin, if and when that threat ever becomes a reality.
Let us all concentrate on the main task in hand, and that is freeing our Country and our people from these confused Iranian Arab lovers who currently run Iran.
The "Green movement", by far is the biggest challenge
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Sat Oct 30, 2010 06:44 AM PDTThe islamist regime has faced in it's entire existance. Anybody who was on the streets of Tehran on Ashura day last year as I was, would agree with that. To that end, this movement deserves unqualified- yet critical - support of all freedom loving, anti fascist Iranians of all political persuations. Dont allow your just indignation of crimes of islamist regime and participation of some of the Green movement leadership take the better of your cold, calculated, logical judgement. If your objective is to overthrow the Islamist regime, back the green movement, mindfull of the fact that this green wave is just the begining.
Long Live Iran, secularism, Democracy.
Down with the islamist regime.

amazing
by Rastgoo on Sat Oct 30, 2010 06:25 AM PDTThe propaganda machine of the IRI should be praised. They have already vilified the leaders of the green movement just the same way they discredited the monarchists, leftists and the MKO in the past 30+ years. Don't let them do it again. Don't fall for the regime's propaganda. This is exactly how they want to destroy the green movement which is by far the largest grass roots pro-democracy movement in the Iranian history. We have seen too many years of the second Mongol invasion. Enough with your childish/naive remarks like a "baby seeing a pacifier". Think about what you're saying and writing. These all make a difference in the social psychology of the movement. We are the intelligentsia here and the people inside look up to us.

His past and present
by norooz on Fri Oct 29, 2010 08:13 PM PDTHis past and present records and joyful expression when speaking of problems in Iran shows how this traitor really feels about Iran and Iranians. His hands and mouth movements and water running from the corners of his mouth as reading some kind of reports remind me of a baby seeing a pacifier.

by Rastgoo on Fri Oct 29, 2010 08:03 PM PDTIt's hard to argue with you because I believe that you're right. But in a court of law these statements are as circumstantial as the trials that killed thousands of the innocent Iranians. Let the regime change proceed and in due time we have plenty of time to hold international tribunals to bring the guilty to justice. To seek justice now from the likes of Moussavi and Sazegara is to throw a monkey wrench in the gear of this movement. All things in due time. Give them the benefit of the doubt because it is very hard to find a mal intention in their doings: there is nothing in regime change for them that they couldn't have had in this regime. They could do very well by just pretending that they're with the regime but they have chosen otherwise. What do you think is Moussavi's motive? Or Abbas Abdi? Or the rest of them. I just can't see why they would do this if their intention was financial gain or power?

by Rastgoo on Fri Oct 29, 2010 07:50 PM PDTI'm sure you're an intelligent person and you can research what I have written to you and not to just sarcastically put them in quotes with immature question marks and the like. Remember that you are a privilaged member of the Iranian people to be living outside and you should pay back to these people by trying to help them and not to blindly act as an obstacle to their progress. If you're making sarcastic remarks at least back them up with intelligently. Please enlighten me.
i disagree that they realized their mistakes
by mahmoudg on Fri Oct 29, 2010 07:46 PM PDTWhen in the beginning days of this revolution, they witnessed the murderes of the members of the ancienne regime, and they stayed quiet, when on the sending of thousands of innocent lives to the war front for the sake of Islam, they stayed quiet, when on the summary trials of innoncent people by the thousands they stayed quiet, when on the mass murders of 1988 they stayed quiet, and on and on and on. Then as far as I am concerned they are as guilty as the head murderer Khomeini. If you were with this revolution and in particular participated in it, no amount of refom will absolve you from your punishment. He has one coming his way, as do the likes of Ebrahim Yazdi, et al. ALL GUILTY for throwing Iran into this abyss. Abandon Islam publicly, then maybe we will reconsider.

"Honesty" Vaccum
by Demo on Fri Oct 29, 2010 05:29 PM PDT"a change??" Mousavi's life in danger??" "Kadivar, a member of clergy??" "Dungeons of Islamic Republic??" "Montazeri's mentle??" "Candom factory??" "Change in 1989??" "Honesty??""They have the honesty to admit that they have made a mistake and are now struggling to undo their damages. This is an honest act and we must support them."
The so called opposition type mentioned in the Rastgoo's statement is nothing more than a colorful "mirage" to mislead the awakened. Its "green" flag holders have been at the service of the "mafia" type power for a long time & the word "honesty" has no meaning to them. Period.

by Rastgoo on Fri Oct 29, 2010 02:30 PM PDTAre you claiming that Soroush, Ganji, Sazegara and the rest of the "green" opposition are lying so that they can profit, financially or otherwise, from a change in regime? Are you saying that Mousavi couldn't go to places in Iran without putting his life and his family's life in danger? Same for Sazegara and the rest of them. Why would Kadivar who is a member of the clergy be against this regime? Why would Ayatollah Kazemeini Boroujerdi sufer like he does in the dungeons of the Islamic Republic? Couldn't he own a condom factory like Mesbah Yazdi and be very rich? Why would Ayatollah Montazeri give up his mantle to oppose Khomeini and his fascist decisions? These people have one thing in common: they were with the regime and now they have broken from it (now starting in 1989). They have the honesty to admit that they have made a mistake and are now struggling to undo their damages. This is an honest act and we must support them. As a general rule we Iranians must learn not to destroy something just because we don't understand it.
