CBS Sports: In a game that was really decided before it started, Team USA handled Iran 88-51 Wednesday [at the 2010 World Championships in Turkey]. But despite the lopsided score, there was a bit of a sour taste left after the final whistle. ... But man, credit Iran. They played as hard as any team I've seen in a double-digit game. Haddadi finished with 19 points and had probably 19 huge smiles. The Iran team had a great attitude throughout and grinded for all 40 minutes. The Iranians deserve a lot of credit for their performance, even if they were on the wrong end of a loss. Iran struggled mightily on offense, shooting only 30 percent and turning the ball over 24 times >>>

The most common mistake all Iranian teams do, is:
by Benyamin on Wed Sep 01, 2010 02:51 PM PDTALL IRANIAN TEAMS HAVE TOO MUCH "RESPECT" FOR THEIR EUROPEAN OR NORTH AMERICAN OPPONANT!
I understand the US team is strong and more experienced and my comment is more general than anything. I wont celebrate anything but a pat on their back and encouraging words suffice it.
I sure hope one day Iranian teams will defeat most countries out there including the USA.
Nice!
by Midwesty on Wed Sep 01, 2010 01:28 PM PDTLoved their energy! A big leap forward from last time US 106 - Iran 55. Very impressive!

by iamfine on Wed Sep 01, 2010 12:42 PM PDTWhen there is hope, there is a way. I am sure Iran will improve its technique in the near future. Yes we can
I am proud of them and yes they played great.
We should be proud of them
by farokh2000 on Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:56 AM PDTThese young men played way over my expectations. For a team coming from a Country with all the issues that they are facing, this was admirable work.
I am really proud of these young men.
Viva Iran Viva the US
by Mehman on Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:47 AM PDTBoth teams are great and the peoples of both country are great!
I wish more friendly relations between the peoples and social institutions of the 2 countries.
Instead of bloody wars the 2 countries must play friendly games!
As a dual citizen I am proud to be an Iranian-American!
I am glad Iran played a fair game and was a 'roo-sefid' loser. Many commentators praised Iran's efforts in this game! Don't forget: the US basketball team is number one in the world.
