AFP: Iran will circumvent international sanctions aimed at halting its controversial nuclear programme, supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed on Tuesday. "The enemies of the nation seek to frustrate the people with economic pressures so the people blame the government for them and ties are cut between the government and the people," Khamenei said. "But the nation and officials will undoubtedly circumvent the sanctions and render them ineffective just as (they have) in the past three decades," state media quoted him as saying in a speech >>>

by Simorgh5555 on Fri Sep 10, 2010 03:10 AM PDTGet a grip on yourself and stop acting like an emotionally unhinged imbecile. If you have read thoroughly any of my comments you would not be misrepresenting my opinion.
Firstly, I am opposed to all "forms of carpet bombing" and a coalition style invasion of Iran a la Iraq which I was deeply against with in the first place. Since you read my comments selectively I will restate my position:
PRECISION MILITARY ACTION OR TARGETED ASSASSINATIONS OF THE TERRORIST INFRASTRUCTURE AND OPPRESSORS BELONGING TO THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC BY AN IRANIAN LIBERATION ARMY OR THE USA.
I am not even advocating the destruction of the nuclear facilies let alone the civilian centres. However, if you align yourself to the Islamic Republic or fight for them then GOOD RIDDANCE.
Secondly, you are the one that is condemning the innocent population of Iran to continued misery and hardship by instilling false hope that change "will come eventually". This is the same mantra that has been churned out for thirty three years. Yes, the Iranian people DID stand up to the regime but they were brutally put down. The Iranian opposition leadership in Iran is disjointed, cowardly and people like Mousavi have no genuine intention to change the regime. This is not 1979 where Iranias gathered round one figure head like Khomeini.
The Islamic Republic is not going to be modified or removed from empowering the 'middle class' or through dialogue (I'll discuss that later with Moosir)
The problem with you is that you sit in the comfortable surrounding of your sunny California home, having pletny to eat and take for granted the basic freedoms and liberties many Iranians are deprived of. You also lack the moral fortitude or the courage to look the Iranian people in the eye and inform them of hard choices ahead.
Iran does not need weaklings like you, Mehrdad. Sorry, but you are too emotionaly distracted to come up with sensible idead that WORK.

by Bavafa on Thu Sep 09, 2010 02:08 PM PDTThe 3M [Iranian] folks wanting Iran to be bombed are limited to Fred agha, dash mahmoud and our Seemorgh jane gool.
We all know tyranny will not live for ever and as such IRI demise will come soon. But to start a war on Iran will result only in death, destruction and devastation to many many innocent Iranians and non-Iranians, will almost certainly guarantee chaos and no stability in Iran. We all have seen what war has brought to Iraq and Afghanistan, who in the right mind would wish that on his home land or any body's land?
And regarding this martike poofioz (Khamenie), I guess sanction has had no affect on his opium, so he is not worried.

by AlexInFlorida on Thu Sep 09, 2010 01:55 PM PDTAli Gheda these great accomplihments you have achieved during the last 31 years of sanctions have been what EXACTLY?
What did you accomplish... you lying maniac. You only proved how stupid your own followers are for believing in your worthlesss words.
In 1979 when you began your struggle to make Iran Great , we were all already doing just fine , irans economy was 4 times larger than turkeys... today Iran is less than 40% the size of turkeys today. Iran is 1/10th what it was economically.
Morally, Iran is 1/1,000,000,000 what it was before you liars and self serving crooks got in to power and bankrupted the country. Today we even stone women and rape young men in jails.
We now realize how good a person the Shah was for capturing religious fanatical liars like yourself and putting them in jail.
If Shah ever personally tortured you, he would have been a Saint to have done it, for you and your team of liars are a pure facade of corruption. You deserve much worse than torture for your despicable crimes.
With Love.

I'm wondering where did you get your exact 3M pro-bombers?
by Mardom Mazloom on Thu Sep 09, 2010 01:54 PM PDTThe war against Saddam was also called "surgical attacks" and just look at the number of causalities which is beyond imagination!
No one can direct bombs to go exactly on some shepshus mullah's head and their facilities (see what happened in Iraq again).
Furthermore, Mullahs are dying to have another war to consolidate their grip on the society and to perpetuate another khavaran where thousands of innocent Iranians were killed by the satanic Khomeini in the mid 80ties.
So, on which basis do you and your 3M other united friends conclude that bombing will resolve our problem (annihilating mullahs in Iran)?
He is the boss – if he says so then that will happen!
by reader1 on Thu Sep 09, 2010 12:33 PM PDTThe gang of 5+1 better to listen. Sanction is not going to resolve the nuclear issue. Give the mullas time and space and they will gradually rot from inside.

by Simorgh5555 on Thu Sep 09, 2010 09:13 AM PDTI agree there are visible cracks in the regime but it's collapse is far from imminent. Sanctions are effective only in the long term like in South Africa but the problem is that the ocupiers will bleed the country dry until their objectives are achieved. I think sanctions are procrastinating the removal of the regime and I know Moosir will scald me for saying so but direct military action is needed. Strike while the iron is hot- as they saying goes; Iranians are united against the regime and the memories of summer 09 are still fresh.
cracks are showing
by mahmoudg on Thu Sep 09, 2010 08:32 AM PDTthis regime is falling apart, he has to show a positive face. No other politician would do any different. No one is going to come in a public venue and admit that they have been defeated. So, we now know that the Islamic Rapist Republic is falling apart from within and they have realized the militarization of the regime is the last and only option they have left. Which then would seal their fate. At that point the only alternative the world has left is to attack, surgically, and remove these parasites from power.

by MOOSIRvaPIAZ on Thu Sep 09, 2010 08:18 AM PDTHow is sanctions working? I dont see Khamenei giving in to western demands? I see more crackdowns, more oppression. I see IRGC getting richer, more powerful. I see China filling the hole made by western sanctions.
If by working you mean hurting ordinary iranians, and moving Iran away from democratic aspirations, slowly suffocating the society, then yes you are right. they are working.
sanctions are working

Lots of public show of confidence, but behind the scenes...
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Thu Sep 09, 2010 07:39 AM PDTThe criminaly insane Khamenei and his hand picked "president", Mahmood Bi Mokh are fully aware of the mess their murderous regime is in after mere 3 months of very weak sanctions. It is no wonder the word "sanction" raises the blood pressure of the islamist regime's agents on this site to the same near mortal, mouth foaming level as the word "Jew"!

Ironicaly...
by Benyamin on Thu Sep 09, 2010 05:22 AM PDT...he is (az kiseh-ye khalifeh mibakhsheh).
It is ironic becuase he is giving away and spends as if all the wealth and money in Iran belongs to him. It is ironic because, he is the most "unqualified" person in Iran to have given so much power. t is ironic because, he is also the least charismatic character with such squeaky and annoying voice which is in power and is eating Iran`s wealth like a giant Bacterium.
