Reuters - Iran sentenced a female human rights activist to six years in prison on Saturday, the latest sign of its determination to punish those the state views as "seditionists" for protesting last year's presidential election. Shiva Nazar Ahari, 26, was arrested in December on her way to the funeral of Grand Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri, the spiritual mentor of the Green movement which opposed the re-election of hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad last June. She was convicted of gathering and plotting to commit crime (against the state), propaganda against the establishment and "moharebe" or waging war against God, a crime that can be punished by death under the Islamic Republic's Sharia law >>>

by Ehsan karimi on Sun Sep 19, 2010 12:16 PM PDTI think it will. Even if it doesn't, there is nothing to lose, compared to civil war, bombing and war that traitors like you are proposing.
How is that civil war, bombing and war can?
You asked, why I don't do it? Just be a good boy and go watch your cartoons!

by Simorgh5555 on Sun Sep 19, 2010 11:40 AM PDTI am sure I speak on behalf of just about every reader of IC who read your comment. YOU are the one who proposed the idea of a lone assassin targetting mullahs so why don't YOU have the courage of your convictions and implement it?
I've thought long and hard about your 'offer' - as enticing was- and realised, hey I'm really not half crazy to believe a lone gun man armed with a .44 caliber and a silencer can bring about change to the human rights situation in Iran.
Sooner or later you will come round to my point of view but I guess for you much much much later...............

by Ehsan karimi on Sun Sep 19, 2010 10:53 AM PDTYou keep talking military action crap all the times. I gave you one solution that is effective and quick. Why don't you do it ?
I am not surprised that nothing useful comes out of your little brain other than prostituting yourself. This is too much for you boy. You go watch your cartoon!!!
And what are you going to do about it?
by Simorgh5555 on Sun Sep 19, 2010 12:58 AM PDTShiva will serve six years in jail; be subject to torture and rape by her guardsman; be forced to sign a forced retraction otherwise her life and her loved ones will be taken; go on a hunger strike in protest at her prison sentence; draw condemnation from the international community to deaf ears in the terrorist regime.
I am sorry but you can sernedade her with poetry and sing your chorus of disapproval but this will not help her. Pink Floyd and Bono can put her picture on giant plasma screens infront of a concert of thousands but the intransigent mullahs will not give a damn. The President's wife can issue a statement of sympathy but the regime will scoff at it.
Deep down you all know it too: the only way women like Shiva and thousands of innocents can be saved is by clenching your fist and lunge a blow into the mouth of the Mullah.
This government will not go any other way. Please support militray action.
What a shame!!
by Bano Atefeh on Sat Sep 18, 2010 09:25 PM PDTIt makes me fell so hopeless and depressed. Is here any end to all these injustices?
Ah...those bastards...
by Azarin Sadegh on Sat Sep 18, 2010 09:03 PM PDTBut knowing her, I'm sure she'll survive this injustice just to watch the fall of the regime of torturers and criminals...
I see...
by Agha_Irani on Sat Sep 18, 2010 08:55 PM PDTthat the islamo-nazis are torturing more innocent Iranians.
Shame on the backward rapist regime.
I tell you, this is getting
by Ehsan karimi on Sun Sep 19, 2010 04:43 AM PDTI tell you, this is getting to a point that one man with sound judgment and a Barrett M107 with silencer can bring more human rights than anyone else. If just a few of the torturers, judges and clerics are taken down, there will be no more torturing, misjudgments and inhumane fatwas given by anyone, knowing that they might be the next in line if they continue on the same path. It is that simple. No mass demonstrations, no civil war, no setting the country on fire, no getting innocent civilians killed and filling Evin with prisoners. And they should know for every one political prisoners they kill or torture, five will be taken down. This will make them think twice before any stupid move.

HOKOOMATE BI GHEIRAT MASLAKAN
by Benyamin on Sat Sep 18, 2010 04:34 PM PDTIf you want to support Ahmadinejad and Khameneie either because you believe in him or they way he conducts himself or because the way he dresses up or the way he looks then it is something that you(hypethatical you) believe in. But you should not have any problem to condemn human rights abuse in Iran. Unless, you believe that this beautiful and promising young woman which probobly has never even seen a gun in her life let alone using it, is infact dangrous to the government of Iran?
WHY IS SHE JAILED? FOR WHAT CRIME?
I say "bi gheiratan" because (zooreshoon be zanhaye bi defa` mireseh) and they cant do squat about Salman Rushdi which did the greatest and ultimate crime in their own book!!!
BI GHEIRATHA=IRRISPOSSIBLE WHORISH AND BASTARD TYPE PEOPLE WHICH WOULD SELL THEIR OWN MOTHERS TO GAIN A DOLLAR!!!
