U.S. aid reaches Camp Ashraf

Humanitarian assistance for Mojahedin Khalgh in Iraq

CBS/AP -- Over the weekend, the Iraqi government at first blocked and then allowed U.S. humanitarian aid for Iranian exiles wounded during a raid by Iraqi Army forces at Camp Ashraf, about 60 miles northeast of Baghdad, according to a U.S. military spokesman. As many as 33 people from the camp were been killed during the raid, according to various reports. The Iraqi government has not allowed the foreign press full access to the camp and its population, and has maintained that only a few people were killed during the incident. More than 3,400 Iranians live at Camp Ashraf >>>

"Islam can be a hand-in-hand partner with democratic governanace as have been Christian and Judaic faiths."

I hope you are aware of struggles and specific conditions which has led to democracy in countries that practice those religions.  I think the notion of separation of church and state  tears down your fantacy.

It could even drive you crazy or give you a heart attack!

There seem to be so much hate and venum in some of the comments here which makes me wonder what the blood pressure and state of mind was at the time of typing these comments. I can almost visualise the mouth covered with a thick layer of foam!

i don't get it. mojahedin khalgh is designated as a terrorist group by the u.s. and the u.s. sends humanitarian aid to them.  something doesn't add up here.

Excuse me CoP but were you born yesterday? Islam has been around for one and half millennia so what are you talkig about? Our ancesters have followd Islam for nearly 1400 years. You guys are either self-deluded or are pretending to be self-deluded. Islam can be a hand-in-hand partner with democratic governanace as have been Christian and Judaic faiths.

The world as is

by Bahram G on

I am sorry to say that this world is not a very loving, just, and wonderful place. Why? Because we the people have made a mess of it. And not just us and our generation. You can go back forever and see that this two-legged species has been less than a paragon of compassion, decency, and loving-kindness.

These poor hammihanaan took up arms to fight the mullahs and put their lot with the Butcher of Baghdad who did indeed butcher numberless Iraqis and some say that the MKO people helped him do just that. So, what can one realistically expect from Iraqis who feel that these people have been complicit in killing their people?

Some say that these people should be repatriated. Some claim that their own leaders don't let them leave the camp. Part of the problem is that somehow truth and justice are rarities these days. So, we the people have made the mess we are in. And we the people must try and clean it up, if we value human ideals that we often profess and ignore in practice.

All said and done, I hope that these people find a way out of their predicament.

Cost-of-Progress

Huh, salman?

by Cost-of-Progress on

You signature is a clear indication of what's wrong with the Iranian populous and why we will not prosper as long as we beat our chests about Islam, an alien religion. Islamic democracy? Just what does that mean considering that it is by definition an impossibility?

Islam does not recognize democracy.

Some comments here pale Fascism

by salman farsi on

It is beyond reproach to see some of the commentators who claim to be supporters of human rights and democracy are openly calling for the annhilation of a group of, misguided as they may be, human beings. When it comes to fascistic behavior the Shahollahis and Anti-Shahollahis are the same. Are these people supposed to be the saviors of the Iran of tomorrow?

پیام شاهزاده رضا پهلوی در مورد کشتار مجاهدین خلق در اردوگاه اشرف

Darius Kadivar

Let us not forget who these

by Khebedin on

Let us not forget who these guys are and what they have done. Now no one wants them. They cause pain wherever they go. Iraq has asked them to leave Iraq, they were part of Sadam’s body and naturally they are no longer wanted.  The only country, in my view, should take them is Israel. Only Israel  knows how to use them and where to use them, or de-programme them to fit an Israeli society, cause no other right minded society wants them.

Humanitarian assistance?!?!?!

by Bavafa on

If West was really interested in humanitarian assistance, then they would provide a venue to accept and de-program these brained wash bunch and slowly settle them in the society. They have done such thing with some Al Qaeda members, why not MKO.

MKO are no better than the Islamic Rapists in Iran.  But let this be a lesson that you/we cannot trust the Arabs beit shiite or Sunni.  we need to rid the world of Islam before we can live peacefully in the region.
