Faced with a growing power-struggle and political isolation in Iran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad struck an unusually moderate tone in an exclusive interview with euronews, answering questions on internal and foreign controversies generated by his leadership. He started by talking about the trial of Egypt's deposed former president Hosni Mubarak.

The Master of Bullshittery!
by HHH on Sun Aug 07, 2011 12:06 AM PDTThese interviewers are either dumb, totally unprepared, or this whole interview is pre-written! When Ahmadinejad says "our 2009 situation wasn't the same as Egypt and nothing but a small group of people paid by foreigners," as he always claims, the interviewer should've prepared videos of 2 million demonstrators, the beatings the shootings and showed to Ahmadinejad, including Neda's video getting shot by Abbas-Karegar-Javid the video of man getting run over by the police van and 100 more videos of regime's obvious crimes. Then maybe this charlatan would shut the hell up and admit what a lowlife he is.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Aug 05, 2011 03:45 AM PDTThere is no limit to the self destructive stupidity of IRI. They do not posess any wisdom. If they had any brains they would have let Mousavi "win". Then put on a face of moderation and make a deal on the nuclear thing.
Result: sanctions removed; lots of trade and money for them to steal. A bigger pot means more money for everyone. The top gets to skim off more and be richer. But the stupidity of Khamenei and his grudge against Mousavie won out.
Now they get nothing but more sanctions and USA as their enemy. Their only friends are Asad and Hizbollah and Obama will overthrow them. None of this surprises me as IRI is run by idiots who are good at one thing. Holding to power.

Well at least they are preserving it for the next regime :-) I am glad oil production is down. The less money IRI makes the better.

by AMIR1973 on Thu Aug 04, 2011 06:42 PM PDTThe many achievements of Ahmadinejad and the preceeding 3 decades of IRI politicians:
- Infant mortality and life expectancy that are not even in the top 100 among countries (look it up) -- lower even than many countries poorer than Iran
- Oil production falling from 6.6 million bpd in 1976 to 3.6 million bpd at present
- An economy larger than South Korea's in 1979 is now about one-quarter the size of South Korea's!
- A lower volume of export revenues than Angola, a country with 1/4th Iran's population (that's right, Angola!)
- World's 2nd leading executioner (after China, a country with almost 20 times the population of Iran!)
- An exponentially greater number of executions within the first few years of coming to power than the "U.S. puppet" Shah carried out in 38 years (the level of violence committed by the IRI is unprecedented in recent Iranian history)
- The use of flogging, stoning, amputation of limbs and other wonderful methods of punishment
- Women officially given 2nd class status under the law
- One of the highest rates of drug addiction in the world
- One of the highest rates of road deaths in the world
- One of the most unsafe airline "industries" in the world
That's just a partial list of the IRI's many great achievements. I'll stop there.

by Faramarz on Thu Aug 04, 2011 02:56 PM PDTBack in 1979, Khomeini came to power in Iran with the general public wanting an end to Evin/SAVAK and the corruptions and a better life for the Iranians, and what did we get?
Khomeini taking American hostages, talking BS about how Egyptians, Lebanese, Jordanians and Iraqis should revolt against their rulers and free Mecca. And everyone in the world said, “Let’s go and shut this mother f** up” and the good old Saddam stepped up to the challenge and now we are supposed to treat Ahmadi as a national hero?
I agree IRI
