"Joojeh Lerim"

Popular Turkish song

This Turkish song was a song many Iranian kids knew, as it was played on Iranian radio all the time. Its name is Joojeh Lerim (Cucelerim) (جوجه لریم) I think it's at least 50 years old. It means "My Chickens."

Nice one, very cool indeed.

Sounds and feels Soviet style. Was it made in the old Soviet Union's Azerbaijan republic I wonder?

some friends are keeping jooje at home

by Anahid Hojjati on

Few days ago, a relative told me that they had two jooje and they became big so, they had to take them to a relative's farm. Yesterday another friend told me that they had several jooje. Two turned out to be khoroos so they took them to the farm and they got some more jooje. Both these families have children under 6/7.  This reminds me to ask my friend whether she knows about this song. Her background is from Azarbayejan and they probably enjoy this song if already a grandparent has not sung this for them.

Me thinks

by Mehrban on

This must have been produced in Azarbayjaan under the Soviets as a tribute to the farmers, just a hunch.

In Iran we had adopted a Farsi version jik jik joojehayam purely as a children's song.
