(a)   About speculation: in a Friends' episode, Phoebe's brother told Phoebe that all Phoebe's coworkers at Spa were whores.  Phoebe said you have to be ashamed of yourself.  THEY ARE NOT WHORE. Phoebe's brother replied: they are not whore now, but they will be when I tell my friends. :)

(b)   Mental health: we live in a world if someone kills someone else (or himself) a court call them people with mental health problem so the jail is the best for their treatment. The only exception is soldiers who become mentally challenged members of our society AFTER they kill and welcome back home (they will be when I tell my friends :)).

• Mental Health: I am no expert but some say it is better to blow steam. A smile may not be the best way to keep it together.

unless you are connected to the family of the police dept. investigating this, it will ALL be speculations, but then again when was the last time such lack of knowledge keeps us from such wild speculation.

As you probably observed I don’t exploit IC as an interpersonal communication tool.  Therefore, I usually don’t apply comment-to-comment communication.  I chunk multiple blogs and rarely a few comments because I like to understand what motivates an individual to initiate the specific blog.  Some of them are brilliant in my opinion.  I sometimes share my own story in my comments, and I try not to persuade others, or indicate whether what they are saying has any value.

I also strive to kick back from a particular theme or website for days or sometimes weeks because a human brain usually takes shortcuts.  In a shortcut, one’s brain measures and compares ideas in order to make minimal changes to his thoughts, which usually become believes.  I would really suggest watching "The Big C", a TV show.  A person’s personalized biology influences his analysis power in a great extent.  People (including me) are still lost in several basic concepts while they think that the concept is embarrassing or uncomfortable to discuss because it is too basic. 

My previous comment was in an agreement with your comment indicating that mental health could have been the fellow’s issue.  As well, I know that you don’t support a war, which is again in agreement with my comment.  I usually don’t comment on politics.  Killing people is not politics because it is not a negotiable subject to me.

You knew these people and knew firsthand the issues they were going through, anything said in this thread purporting to be the "reason behind this tragedy" is pure speculation.

And at this point, the reasons, whatever they may have been, are meaningless.

Thanks for yet another attempt to use a tragedy to score political points. No most of us are not asking for war with Iran. Those who are mostly ask for a war to oust IRI. Unless you think of them as the same; do you?

Now may we get back to the point. There are many blogs for example that of Faramarz about intervention. This is about a criminal act which I still do not know much of.

I concur. It really can be a mess. Like vpk said it will be a while before we know what really went on.. but what a shame. But even though i know your stance on Capootaleezm:) i still tend to disagree with those who put the blame aassskuerly (squarely) on the poor old buddy of ours. I mean come ooon...

Mental health challenge.

A family died because of a health issue of an ex-member of their family.  So what?  Aren't several people at IC wishing for a war with Iran, which means they can't wait to see Iranians' dead body?

Immigrants who connect or get closer with the culture have lower rate of mental or even physical health problems.  That's the same for the future of their children's real success, which means lower vulnerability to depression in their adulthood.

DM jaan, it's more like a combination of: short-fuse, loss of

employment, a foreclosed house, divorce,...And by no means is such crazyness unique to us.

Almost every year you read a violent christmas family story (mostly occuring in the US).

All these emotions just pile up, and then right on holidays, for some it just gets really bad. Haven't you seen all those adds on TV for special holiday counseling.

Do you have any real bad memories from holidays, ever? Something that pissed you off?

The Oddest thing is that while taking pot shots and demonizing capitalism, some people totally forget that if it were not for IT!! they would not have been able to come on here and yell at the top of their lungs and enjoy the benefit of so many other great and wonderful ideas, brought to them by Capitalism.

Blaming USA

is a cheap shot and yet another way to capitalize on a tragedy. A few people tried to turn this into a way to push the IRI agenda of trashing USA. I find it really insulting to the victims and readers.   

PS: I do not mean Vildermose. Because I know her and specifically do not imply that in any way about her. But let us face it. People in Iran have it very bad too.

It is better to ait to get the facts before pronouncing judgement.

I think financial problems played a big role here together with:  May be his divorced wife had an affair, maybe he was not getting along with his children, cultural differences. All the above can contribute to this tragedy.

More than Ten million People in the USA

Suffer from debilitating mental disease, without the ability to pay for healthcare, with no access to free mental health help like we have in UK, Holland, Sweden, Denmark.  Can you smell the Freedom USA? Ahhhhhhhhhhh great, what a miracle, land of the free, home of the brave, slogans without thought.

With so much care, opportuity, freedom and compassion its surprising more people don't act like soul-less savages.   

Hélas, it often happens during festive season

Those who are lonely commit suicide while others, like this unfortunate man, kill their families (and then themselves). 

One thing that makes me terribly angry when such tragedies occur is people who kill their own children. Sometimes I wish they survived and had to deal with it the rest of their lives.

too far let us get the facts. Also blaming it as Pendar does on "Capitalism" is one big cheap shot. I lived here for over 30 years and never shot anyone. Nor do I know anyone who did or wanted to. 

It may have been a mental disease or some other problem. Insanity is not a defense but a reality. People go nuts and when they do horrible things happen.

This is not America's fault. I still want to know the facts.

No one exactly knows what motivated the alleged murderer to commit such unbelievable act of violence.

The local news media is simply speculating on the family's financial difficulties and bankruptcy as a possible motive. 

Many folks out there (Americans, Iranians, Mexicans, black, white, etc.) spent beyond their means during the housing bubble era and lost their jobs and had to declare bankruptcy and lost their homes etc.

But they didn't massacre their families. Instead, they somehow manged to make the ends meet.

They scaled down, cut excessive spending, got odd jobs here and there and whatever it took to keep them standing proud on their feet...

Now some ignorant poster's trying to take advantage of this tragic event and blame it on Capitalism and this and that is beyond me...!

I wonder how many tragic events such as this take place in the criminal IRR due to the Islamism...
