by Ensan on Sun Dec 18, 2011 12:04 PM PSTHumanity did not get where it is today for being able to paint and sell cars. Ask yourself what Molavi or Ferdosi, or, Hafez, or Sadee, or Gangavee, or Nasarkhosroh, Iraj Mirza, or Sohrab Sepehree, Fouroog or Saidi-Sirjani have contributed to humanity, and then you understand what Hicthen's contribution is!!!

by Ensan on Sun Dec 18, 2011 10:00 AM PSTSo is astrology and furtune telling. If faith means to let go of reason, I do not need it. Just keep it for yourself. I suggest you read Bertrand Russells "Tea Pot" story. I think that should summarize your point of view in a nut shell.

by Ensan on Sun Dec 18, 2011 09:54 AM PSTHis prolific written and verbal battle against human-made systems of a totalitarian or dictatorial nature places him among such characters as Paine, Voltaire, Russo, Sarter, and Hume. I did not personally agree with all of his views, but I have always admired those who promot free thinking and logic as the means of deciding the path one may take. His contibution to humanity is his pen and verbal skills which will be read and learned by thousands in the future. I suggest you read some of his work. If I may, I suggest you to start by "Thomas Paine's Rights of Man", then you will realize what a fantastic writter and thinker he was.
To have faith means to dare, to think the unthinkable, yet
by Hooshang Tarreh-Gol on Sun Dec 18, 2011 09:49 AM PSTto act within
the limits of the realistically possible; it is the paradoxical hope to expect
the Messiah every day, yet not to lose heart when he has not come at the
appointed hour. This hope is not passive and it is not patient; on the contrary,
it is impatient an active, looking for every possibility of action within the
realm of real possibilities. Least of all it is passive as far as the growth and
liberation of one's own person are concerned....

by Red Wine on Sun Dec 18, 2011 09:41 AM PSTEnsan ...
You've read what I wrote?I am talking about faith . I know myself and I have found the God in my mind and my heart, my faith comes after many years of studying, reading, and have experience of living and working in many countries.
Believing in God is something personal and to believe in God requires one to know himself.
Thank you for your attention.

by Ensan on Sun Dec 18, 2011 09:32 AM PSTGullibility and credulity are considered undesirable qualities in every department of human life--except religion.--Christopher Hitchens
If you are just doing good because of God, I am very sorry for you. If you expand your knowledge, you may come across a quote by a great man named Abraham Lincoln who said, " When I do good, I feel good, and when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion." The rest is none sense. P.S. I do not dislike everything about you, I think your name "red wine" is fantastic. Maybe you should read some Khayam. Perhaps he may get the point across.

Or a homage to Christopher Hitchens, one of all times best essayist in the English language. Though towards the end of his life he went for the deep end, and paid the price for it, in his earlier writings that pen was just Angelic.
Despite all the BS he says in here, as almost everyone else has noticed as well, to the end of his life he remained an atheist.
The amount of whisky this man individually consumed in one session, would have put out an entire pub with alcohol poisoning. The only other writer that drank as much might have been, might have been Charles Bukowski! Hitchens in his earlier years, and as a true drunk shall be missed.
His essays in the American journal the Nation, throughout the 80's remains some of the best for that decade.

Don't scream like a child!
Who can not respect the opinions of others can not understand the visions of a person of faith, faith in God means many things, you do not understand because you have not seen anything in your life,You talk like a person who has done nothing positive in his life and has never helped people.
You have not traveled, you have not seen anything, You have not seen bad people and good people, you have lost everything in life in this way, believing in God is the right way. you are in the wrong way.leave us alone and talk for yourself.
Hitchen will be missed!
by Disenchanted on Sun Dec 18, 2011 01:28 AM PSTHis was a complex mind, very articulate and intelligent. Seemingly all over the map as far as politcs goes. Wrong at times.
His views in the last two minutes of this video was PURE BS!
On the occasion of Jerry Falwell's death, Hitchen was interviewed by CNN. He said:"It's a pity there is no hell for him to g to"!

His death was not expected as i guess anyone's death who comes down with cancer!!! Gee. One medical miracle after another one. Amazing world we live in nowadays eh?:))

Angels!!! Demons!!!! How old are you? Have you even read any of his books? How can some one be so ignornat? Aha, religion is the pill you take to keep you ignorant. Grow up!
Hitchens is not unfortunate, but you are ignorant!

He Didn't Say Nuking Bahrain!

Christopher Hitchens, an unfortunate person
by Khebedin on Sat Dec 17, 2011 04:30 PM PSTChristopher Hitchens’s visceral hatred of religion made him fall into an abyss of despair. He abhorred religion and considered anyone lining towards religion (Islam) ominous. You can clearly see this in his body language , not only in this interview but in all his interviews when talking about Iran and Islam.
In my view such a person can not be rational and is not worthy of consideration. His death was unexpected and is said to be as the result of hate. I am no taking side with any religion or idea, but having so much hate, that he always showed for religion and in particular with Islam, is just very unhealthy. Expressing views should not originate from hate. He abhorred Islam. He was an unfortunate person.

It is not so simple, I do not believe in Any religion but I have faith, faith in God, I have seen his Hand, his miracles, His Angeles and I saw God. When we die, we pay our debts and account for the things we have done on Earth.
I feel good when I die, because I believe in God and His hand will protect me.

What a pile!
by Arj on Sat Dec 17, 2011 11:39 AM PST...of nonsense about IRI's nuclear intentions! To launch a nuclear attack on Bahrain?! Firstly, IRI's main objective in acquiring the nukes is to guarantee its survival so it can carry on its oppressive rule and plunder of Iran and its violations of our human rights without any need for accountability towards UN, HRW or related institutions! Secondly, if any actual target, I doubt if it would Bahrain and that it would actually require a nuclear holocaust to invade!
