Of course, he is Iranian.  Were they going to hire Blari Underwood?

@40 the split second it shows a guy standing in trees, with something infront of him.  What is it?

Racist imagery?

by maghshoosh on

I wouldn't swear by it, but right after the baby is delivered by the old woman (and she calls the baby very cute) somewhere between 38s to 40s into the video, for a split second an image is flashed and then the woman who's just given birth dies.  The split-second very-poor-quality image appears to be in the woods and seems to be something like a chimpanzee!  Could they have been making such an overtly racist reference to a baby from a black man??

Who's the black private dick (as in detective!)
That's a sex machine to all the chicks?
(Shaft!)
You're damn right

Who is the man
That would risk his neck for his brother man?
(Shaft!)
Can ya dig it?

Who's the cat that won't cop out
When there's danger all about
(Shaft!)
Right on

You see this cat Shaft is a bad mother--
(Shut your mouth)
But I'm talkin' about Shaft
(Then we can dig it)

He's a complicated man
But no one understands him but his woman
(John Shaft)

Taboo, stigma

It appears the film is trying to address or reflect (or reinforce?) the "shame" in having sex with a black man.
