Reuters: Iranian lawmakers urged judiciary on Tuesday to hand out death penalties to opposition leaders for fomenting unrest in the Islamic state after a rally in which one person was killed and dozens were wounded, state media said. Clashes broke out between security forces and protesters when thousands of opposition supporters rallied in sympathy for popular uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia on Monday, reviving mass protests that shook Iran after a presidential vote in 2009. "(Opposition leaders) Mehdi Karroubi and Mirhossein Mousavi are corrupts on earth and should be tried," the official IRNA news agency quoted lawmakers as saying in a statement. The loose term "Corrupt on Earth," a charge which has been leveled at political dissidents in the past, carries the death penalty in the Islamic Iran >>>

NOROOZ
by Benyamin on Tue Feb 15, 2011 06:05 AM PSTpeople like you are the reason the government of Iran gets enbolden in their action of killing innocent iranian youths. You sanction the killing of iranians even though you called larijani a "traitor".
I say, please clarify where you stand, are you with the people or you want to agree with the "traitors"?
Which nations have suffered more?
by norooz on Tue Feb 15, 2011 05:43 AM PSTIf you say, no Ghazeh, no Lebanon and don't think they should be supported, then how is that you want to support movements in Egypt and other places? Which nations have suffered more? The Palestinians and Lebanese by Israel, Iraq and Afghanistan by US or Egypt by Mubarak?
Na Ghazeh na Lobnan and tearing down anti Israel banner in Ghods day was a wrong slogan and action and is beginning to bite the greens.
However, most of Larijani's speech was baseless and nonsense.

by ayatoilet1 on Tue Feb 15, 2011 02:07 AM PSTHim and his Iraqi born brothers who speak english with an english accent - nokaraye Inglis - telling Iranians they can't excercise their constitutional rights. The real traitors are them. Hopefully, it won't be long before he is tried and hung by the people...
How dare he even utter a word...when did he last stand for proper elections? Who is he?
