I must agree with golineda
by Cost-of-Progress on Thu Feb 10, 2011 09:54 AM PSTDemo, your criticism is bogus at best. Saying that Tunisians and Egyptians are more progressive than young Iranians shows how cluless you are. But hey, at least you didn't say that they are just north tehranis and the rest of the nation is happy as can be that the regime is in power.
And, btw, how old was Mandela when he became SA's president? Age is irrelevant as it was with the 1979 (2nd) islamic takeover of my nation.

Keep Our Fingers Greem Ribboned!!
by Demo on Wed Feb 09, 2011 10:00 PM PSTThe young in Tunisia & in Egypt are @ no way comparable with the ones in Iran. They are 1000 times more progressive than young Iranians & do not let the dying/old/proven cronnies of their ruling corrupt regimes decide over their uprisings! Let's just use our brains for a second instead of our green covered fingers! Why is it that the young Iranians are making the same exact mistake that their parents did 32 years ago? Was not Khomeini 79 years old when he returned to Iran? How could a man of that age be a leader of any thing? Then let's go on with our comparisions/predictions in vain!
I'm with Siamack Baniameri on this one
by AMIR1973 on Wed Feb 09, 2011 08:44 PM PSTMy heart goes out 100% to the brave Iranians who have resisted the oppressive IRI and been killed, jailed, raped, and tortured. But I would be surprised to see many anti-IRI protestors in the next few days. The regime is far more ruthless and repressive than the Tunisian and Egyptian dictatorships (we don't see much protests in Syria or North Korea either, which are IRI allies and closer in brutality to the IRI than Tunisia and Egypt). Unlike the Egyptian and Tunisian governments, the IRI has oil money and is able to buy the loyalty and/or acquiescence of more people. Also, protesting for "reform" and return to the Golden Era of Emam when you are being assaulted and tortured is asking a lot of people. I hope I am wrong, but I am pessimistic about the chances of major protests against the IRI in the near future (somewhat further in the future might be a different story).
What will happen on 25 Bahman?
by Amir19 on Wed Feb 09, 2011 08:27 PM PSTI predict the following:
(1) Regime warns people not to participate (2) Then realizing that many people will participate, the regime will unleash his dogs and basiji thugs on the streets to intimitate people (3) People will ignore these tactics by the regime and will pour into the streets in large numbers and in many cases clash with the security forces (4) the images of these ralleys and the beating of the innocent people by the regime's thugs will be shown all over the world (5) The protest will continue on following days and people of Iran will finish what they started 2 years ago. For all this to happen, we jsut need to remember that we are many and that "United We Stand, Divided We Fall" . Long live Iran and proud Iranians. Down with IRI and Zahak e Zaman.
