CNN: Reza Pahlavi said he was "shocked" upon hearing the news at his Washington-area home. He last spoke with Alireza about a week ago. Depression contributed to the death of Alireza, 44, his older brother said at a news conference. "Depression is an illness, often with tragic consequences," said Pahlavi. "My family has had its share of dealing with this debilitating illness >>>

When to attack when to respect?
by afshinazad on Fri Jan 07, 2011 02:42 PM PSTI am so disappointed with some Iranian who they attack Royal family in such a sad day and they are showing their hate to this family , which those who do that either they were kids during 1979 or even they were not in tis world even and I wonder are they hating them because of their parents came to streets to remove someone who loved his country and modernized the sheet hole country and illiterate people, or they hate and slander the Royal family because they sick minded and they don't see the facts and the question comes who they really support, IRI , MEK , or who? I am really sadden for some of our people who they claim to know a lot or they are educated and even worst which they live in western free countries and they don't understand or they ignore the facts. it is shame full and heart breaking to read some remarks which in other times would been just ok but not in such a sad day. May god bless his soul and may god forgive these people as they say because they don't know what they are doing or even their parents didn't have a understanding even then. At the end we need each other and we want government will respect us and would not lie to us and would not rape or torture us for our differences of opinion. Drood bar har irani azadi talab.
success oriented Versus Failure oriented
by opinionpost on Fri Jan 07, 2011 07:48 AM PSTThere is a discussion I learned in Educational psychology course.
Success oriented seeks the roots of the problems within herself, the place she has control of changing the approaches.
Failure oriented.... seeks all the roots of the problems outside....
Englis, America, Israel....

Dear Prince Reza Pahlavi:
by opinionpost on Fri Jan 07, 2011 07:40 AM PSTDoroud bar shoma, va madare geramiyat:
Please write an answer to Mr. Moshiri. He is bringing up a point, if you are not able to manage your own family, How could you lead a country? If you are our leader, why are you not mixing with people? why are you not proving your leadership skills? why we even did not know of Alireza? I would personally visit him, and talk to him, face booked him. What has happened? If you believe you are our king, you may feel we deserve a further explanations? Every one questioned Royal family in Britain, after Prince Diana's accident. This is an open society, we deserve more real interactions, if you claim you may be capable of leading us... I love your ideas, but I like to see some more interactions...

by Tavana on Fri Jan 07, 2011 05:37 AM PSTThe West is in toilet & not our country, dear. No wonder any thing Western is abbreviated as W.C., ie. Western Countries, Western Culture, and etc. Such is not an opinion but it is a fact!!!
Tavana
by Cost-of-Progress on Fri Jan 07, 2011 05:18 AM PSTperhaps you've forgotten that you're in the west (if that's where you are) and people can voice their opinion w/o the fear of persecution by thugs of various color and persuations. If you don't like other people's postings, don't read them! One would think that those of us who've lived and seen the freedom afforded to people in the western cultures would have learned a thing or two about respecting others' opinion by now.
No wonder our country is in the toilet.

Prince????
by Tavana on Thu Jan 06, 2011 12:10 PM PSTWhere did the title "Prince" come from? "Reza Khan" is perhaps a Prince of his own imagination & is running away from the realities & the truth as usual. These 2 brothers never worked in their lives & enjoyed the inhereted plunders of their both father & their grandfather (an illeterate soldier turned to a self proclaimed "Shah"). My father used to say that of one of the 2's uncles with the same name as Alireza was different than the rest in Pahlavi's family. Perhaps the younger Prince???? had some "conscious" to force him into commiting suicide after years of using alcohols/drugs to forget the cimes of his dad.
Reza Pahlavi is the best.
by Yadam Beh-Khair on Thu Jan 06, 2011 12:01 PM PSTAlthough he has not publicly acknowledged the plight of minorities in the previous regime, I do have a lot of respect for him. IMHO he is the best among opposition. He is honest, respectful, focused and a good father and husband.

Sad News
by ghalam-doon on Thu Jan 06, 2011 10:21 AM PSTNot that I'm a Shahi or anything but they have to put the remaining 2 members of this family on 24 hour suicide watch for the rest of their lives.
I wish them, the Pahlavis, well....
by bihonar on Thu Jan 06, 2011 09:43 AM PSTI wish them, the Pahlavis, well. They have paid a heavy price, for being the family of the last royal dynasty of Iran, the dynasty to whom, in all fairness, we all owe a lot, whether we like to admit or not.

Honest statement, much more human
by Souri on Thu Jan 06, 2011 09:04 AM PSTRP's reaction to the event was much wiser and and his words were much tempered, this time. I like this much better than the hasty first statements, done at his website in his name, by the regular fossil laashkhor in his organization
