Hengameh Shahidi is in need of urgent attention. She is currently detained in Evin prison serving a six-year prison term. She is charged with “gathering and colluding with intent to harm state security” (5 years prison) and “propaganda against the system” (1 year prison). Hengameh suffers of various deseases: of a heart desease, of rheumatism, of lower back pain, of intestinal [stomach] problems, of nervous rheumatism and of severe drops in blood pressure >>>

If you look at it only from the political point of view, you are right. my comment is out of place. but this lady mentioned fighting for women rights, which I am all for it, but look how the law is defending women in some cases and how they use it and put their X behind bars for mehrieh, even thought the man is the father of her child.

Even though out of place, you learned something useful. we will discuss it another time.

You watch out for some of these sheer zanha, some of them can really eat you up like a Sheer!!!

I have a friend who has gotten divorced lately and has been in jail for a few months now, because he doesn't have half a million dollars to pay the Mehrieh. 

I had no idea. I heard that a woman can demand the mehrieh any time during the marriage and I always thought that is something men should pay if got divorced.

This brave Sheerzan deserves every Iranian and freedom loving people's support and backing.

My hats off to her and all those who are fighting this brutal dictatorship and wish for her immediate and unconditional release from prison and harassment of the regime thugs.
