CNews: A massive joint-forces undercover operation has stopped more than $20 million of imported drugs from hitting the streets of the GTA. The Toronto Police drug squad launched Project Khiar a year ago after two shipments opium were intercepted at the Port of Montreal. The illegally imported drugs, which likely would have been used to make heroin, allegedly originated in Iran and were concealed in cans of pickled cucumbers >>>

I am ashamed!

As an Iranian-Canadian I am ashamed of this news. My father in law is a Canadian Army Officer and he informed me of this project and now that I saw it here, I truly feel mortified to share the same home land as these monsters. They looked scary. How did they got a VISA to come to Canada?? They should be send to IRAN for punishment, you know what I mean!
Great job by Canadian police
by Benyamin on Fri Jan 28, 2011 03:17 PM PSTIranians that do crime must do time too. This is not a state of lawlessness this is a state of law and order. They are lucky to get caught by Canadian police because they have rights under the Canadian charter of rights as humans although they have proven they don`t deserev it.
I am a very proud iranian but I am also a proud Canadian. If an Iranian is a cause to be proud of I would be the first to encourage and acknowledge it and vice versa.

Here is the latest!
In a daring operation conducted by the Canadians, the lovely special agent Khiar Ghalami penetrated the Iranian drug smuggling ring and arrested them at their hide-out, known as Must-o-Khiar!

by masoudA on Fri Jan 28, 2011 11:23 AM PSTKnowing this drug smuggling operations have been ongoing for years - where do you think the income from such drug smugglings have been going to? If you said Masjids and other Islamic Centers - you are correct in my opinion.
One more note - Work of the IR drug circulation/money distribution rings have been made quiet difficult by the latest sanctions on IR. Trying to import opium via passenger flights shows IR desprations in that regard. I wonder if NIAC is still working hard to remove sanctions to save the poor people of Iran.

I LOVE Kheyar
by ali_aaa on Fri Jan 28, 2011 11:06 AM PSTThere are many Iranian in police force in Toronto, Kudos to them and their sense of humor.
Also Canada is not waking up, they are not that smart to catch these guys, someone passed a tip to the Police, probably a disgruntle smuggler. God knows how many kilos has been imported to Canada already.
looks real to me
by masoudA on Fri Jan 28, 2011 10:36 AM PSTThe two Iranians looked pretty scary..... to think decent Iranians have a hard time to get visas anywhre and yet our criminals roam around all over the place. I hope the news is true - because it appears that FINALLY Canada is waking up from the coma or better said Brit induced mullah spell
January Fools
by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Jan 28, 2011 09:21 AM PSTIf this story had been released on April 1st, I would have laughed very hard. But no. We're three months away from April Fools.
Who in the world would name a Canadian sting operation "Project Khiar"? Who's the Iranian officer in the squad who proposed it? He's got a great sense of humor.
