by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Tue Jan 04, 2011 04:01 PM PSTThe basic of all religions
by siavash1000 on Tue Jan 04, 2011 12:53 PM PSTThat is the basic of all religions. Whatever the others tried to say for many centuries, Zartosht summurized in 3 statements. Good Deed. Good thought and Good speech. Thanks VPK. you're a great Iranian and we are proud of you.
BTW, Even though Shahnameh has been written in 997 A.D, it can be classified as a "modern literature" because Ferdowsi uses name Siavash in the same format as we are using these days. Not Saiyavakhsh (the Avestaian version).
What happened to the "hossein" thread here?
by afyoun on Mon Jan 03, 2011 03:33 AM PSTIs this a kind of self-censorship or pro-regime goons have shown their concerns through flagging?
They are censoring you right in the cradle of "freedom of speech".
Meanwhile they use this very website and the "freedom of speech" in
order to publish their backward and inhuman thoughts and nobody here
ever tags them as an abusive. You know why? Because "we are a
compassionate nation" towards our enemies!! We would like to teach them"what love and kindness is" and punish them with Persian wine and
poems. We even censor ourselves to not to slightly insult
their rotten believes! And you know what? each time in power, they hit
us harder than the previous.
Zoroastrian
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Jan 02, 2011 04:19 PM PSTThe Zartoshti religion is an amazing light for all of humanity. I have studied it for a long time. I found it to be the most enlightened religion and philosophy I have ever known.
It gives you a recipe for happiness which really works. One of its most sacred prayers "Ashem Vohu" does not even mention "God". Instead it tells us the secret of happiness.
It is so different from other religions which as all about submission.
Instead of fear it uses reason to teach the path to happiness.
The original prayer is in Avestan a language which stopped being used over 2000 years ago. So you need to read the translation. There are many translations available on the web. One must be careful as the meaning changes based on how you translate "Ashem".
I prefer the translation righteousness as it makes more sense.
Here is the whole prayer with translation originally by James Darmesteter
Righteousness is the best good.
It is happiness
Happiness to him who is righteous for the sake of best righteousness.
VPK's commentary:
Note the lack of fire and brimstone. The lack of self humiliation and kissing up to god. Note this is more a reminder to us on how to behave. Not groveling at God's feet! God does not our praises.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Jan 02, 2011 01:13 PM PSTIt is Persian written in Cyrillic. It is the tenets of the Zoroastrian faith. The Tajik version of Persian is slightly different from Iranian version. I have the Tajik; Iranian and English version of each word.
