by Ari Siletz on Mon Jul 11, 2011 03:47 PM PDTSome folks dismiss Iran's claims to advances in technology as pretention. One way to cross check the accuracy of these statements is to see how Iranians teams do in friendly international technology competitions such as the Robocup annual event.
According to CCN online news (and the above video) Iran beat US and Japan in small, wheeled, robots soccer.
The US Virginia Tech team won the world champion in adult and kid sized humanoid (legs, not wheels) robot soccer. Here's the exciting US-Japan 2011 match. Note: the smaller "astroboy" players are the US robots. The goal is to play against a human team by the year 2050.
More 2011 US soccer "excitement" here.

by bahmani on Mon Jul 11, 2011 03:31 PM PDTI wonder if the team can invent a robot that can do the job of Iran's President?
