Alaa Wardi

a.k.a Ala Verdi's Arabic harmonies go viral in Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia

This style should be familiar to Western audiences. Previously, videos of artist Mike Tompkins' pop covers, performed similarly, became enormously popular in the U.S. and elsewhere. Videos made by Alaa Wardi & Seena Imamwerdi:

Did I mention me likes Coktail Molotov.

Oh that Winter War:

//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov_cocktail

them Finns sure know how to keep things warm!

It's going to sound strange but when I listening to Sibelius, all I hear is Wagner, strum und drang never works for me.

In reply to your kindness, here's one more of my all time Fayrous favourites, I promise not to post any more Fayrouz!

It's great too be Iranian. So far its been more pain than anything else (poor little me), but my family, freinds, comrades, not to mention, the food, art,..makes it all worthwhile, Oh yeah, and that little vendetta with IR. It leaves one no choice but, to be the best Iranian one could ever be (it's not optional), cheers

MG jaan, It was not meant for you.  It was not meant for anyone in particular.

Here is a gift for you, it is Finlandia, by a Finn from the Swedish minority of Finland.  It is written to rid Finland from the Russian rule.  I am sure you know the piece.

Ps, (in general) IT IS OKAY TO BE AN IRANIAN

mehrban jan, 'cowered?,' most probably that wasn't meant for me, cause I've been in love with Fayrouz for a while now. It's a lot more than just  lip service. How did you like her songs?

Iranians

Have been so cowered that they have to apologize if they love their own language and culture.  and constantly have to pay lip service to other cultures.

Ari jan , agree. Me likes the first one better, I liked the Wah Wah and the Thing, nice video. 2nd one felt  like a Scottish Arab Jazz  piece, very nice, hints of Demis Roussos.

alx jan, serouisly disappointed. Arabic is a lovely language. All arabs are not muslims. In that spirit, and since this young man reminded me of avangaurd Arab music, three Fayrouz songs below are for you.

mashang jan, STFU.

---------------------------------------------------------

The first two are the  same song, by Fayrouz' son. First one he's him directing his mother how to sing.

For the third song:  whoever correctly identfies the original  music for the song, shall have a great gift from the Levant.

Fun!

At 3:32 try isolating the sound that goes with each image box. Top row second box from viewers left: "zhhhh?" Bottom row bass to treble is viewers left to right based on face expression--relaxed to tense. Treble box also has head tilt clue at 3:41.

Beard sound at 2:55 :)

Thanks GS. It was beautiful. I am sure there are some among us who thought the video would end with his explosion belt going off, or a plane crashing into the camera.
