Iran intensifies dress crackdown

More than 70,000 so-called "moral police" officers deployed

The Iranian government has launched a crackdown against Western-style clothing. More than 70,000 so-called "moral police" officers have been deployed in the capital Tehran, to enforce a government approved dress code. Women will be arrested if their headscarves do not fully cover their hair or their clothes show their figures too clearly. Men will be stopped for wearing necklaces or having hairstyles seen as inappropriate. Al Jazeera's Dorsa Jabbari reports from Tehran:

فکر نان باش که خربزه آب است. هر وقت آقایان کم می آورند یه فشاری به خانمان وارد می کنند. ما همه می دانیم و قبول می کنیم که داشتن سگ، مد با رعایت قانون کشور، و گلوبند یا موی اشخاص هیچ ربطی به این احمقان عقب مانده فکری ندارد. جالب اینجاست که همین کارهای اشتباه و بی بصیرت اینان است که همه را، چه طرفدار چه مخالف، بر ضد این کوته فکران کرده. چه کنیم که فعلا دور، دور اینان است ولی چرخش دنیا همه چیز را با زمان زیر و رو می کند.

They put the responsibility on the victim (to cover herself) instead of the perpertrator...

The problem is that this similar behaviour exists in the west aswell. E.g. the judge asks "what were you wearing when the rapist saw you", which imo shouldn't be asked... But in the islamic countries they really take the price. They see every inch of a woman's body as a sexual spot.

had the price police, enforeced morals by shaving the head od youth harassing women, enforeced a one party sytem, etc. etc. etc. and look what happened to him.  Khemenei and the rest of the Olaghs like him, are no different.  These Islamic thugs will be relegated to the dustbin of history, as we Iranians have done to many invaders such as these Arabs.  Islam is dead in Iran and if anyone questions that, just look at the masses yearning to be free from it.

claimed by IRI "to protect against harassment of women" was spent to protect innocent families in their own private gathering.

I also wonder how much of this is a setup as a pretext to use to prevent any gathering on the streets of Iran that has nothing to do with Hejab and all to do with dissatisfaction and uprising against the regime.
