Wikipedia: Fin Garden, or Bagh-e Fin, located in Kashan, Iran, is a historical Persian garden. It contains Kashan's Fin Bath, where Amir Kabir, the Qajarid chancellor, was murdered by an assassin sent by King Nasereddin Shah in 1852.The origins of the garden may be anterior to the Safavid period; some sources indicate that the garden has been relocated from another place, but no clear picture of it has been found. The settlements of the garden in its present form was built under the reign of Abbas I of Persia (1571-1629), as a traditional bagh near the village of Fin, located a few miles southwest of Kashan. The garden was developed further during the Safavid dynasty, until Abbas II of Persia (1633-1666). It was highly recognized during the reign of Fath Ali Shah Qajar and was considerably expanded >>>

Kashan is a dump!
by fussygorilla on Sat Mar 05, 2011 10:25 AM PSTVisited Kashan last year. It is filty, lacks any good buildings, has little old dinky shops and only one decent hotel (overstated). Could not believe that a city would be this desolate, underdeveloped, and with nothing to see except Fin Garden. It also was desolate, unkept, dried up bushes, unattended buildings, the list could go on and on. I asked the man at the entrance to see the garden's manager to file complaint about the condition of the garden and its buildings. He told me He was the manager and that due to lack of funds, he had had to cut the staff working for him in half. Kashan itself however, was the worst place I had visited in Iran. Shockingly bad.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sat Mar 05, 2011 01:40 AM PSTAt this point I will be happy to see IR removed in any way. Just hope we do not end up with yet another "Islamic" something or other. Next time deal with the Mollahs before they get a chance to hit back.

by Simorgh5555 on Sat Mar 05, 2011 12:51 AM PSTThe human, environmental and ecological devastation which this evil regime has wreaked on Iran is unprecedented. They have done more damage to Iran than Genghis Khas. Still carry on with the civil disobedience and 'peace is the answer' BS mantra while more Iranians die wholesale and Iran continues to be destroyed within.
Violence is the ONLY solution. Please supprot violence against the regime.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Fri Mar 04, 2011 04:33 PM PSTthis kind of thing happens all over the world. The USA tragically destroys old growth Redwood forests. This is one thing I won't try to pin on Islam or IR.

by Jahanshah Javid on Fri Mar 04, 2011 04:28 PM PSTYoung and old, women and youth get mowed down in the Islamic Republic. But others take their place. The regime can't get rid of its critics.
But 400-year-old trees... more than a 100 of them? How are we going to replace them? What are we to do with THIS tragedy?
