What a beautiful documentary !!
by jasonrobardas on Tue Mar 08, 2011 07:56 AM PSTI loved it . It demystifies the life of a legend who was truly an iconoclast . The public culture (farhange avam) and the stagnation (khafaghan)of Pahlavi regime both contributed to this woman's suffering. Forough and fereidoon were both ahead of their times . It was a pleasure watching this .

by Mash Ghasem on Mon Mar 07, 2011 11:50 PM PSTAyidein Aghdashlo ( the great Iranian painter, and the x of Shohreh) was the one who , correctly, mentioned that until both: Forough and Ebrahim Golestan are a part of history, there can't be an objective assesment of their relationship. I never knew of the extent of Golestan's sorrow after Fourough's death, but Kaveh was probably the best authority on that. This video showed so many of my literary and artistic heros, whom are not alive anymore, that towards the end it was really hard no to get misty eyes: Hoshang Golshiri, Kaveh Golestan,...
Kamyar as someone in there also mentions is a very reclusive young man. After his father's passing away some say he has become even more so.
This is an incredibly talened and sensitive family. It is going to sound awful for me to say this, but perhaps they were born in the wrong country!
Absolutely great!
by Souri on Mon Mar 07, 2011 02:04 PM PSTVery good documentary. Although I wish there were more talk about her talent than her surreptitiousness.
I have always wanted to hear kamyar Shapour's words about his mother. But it seems that he has never said anything about Frough. Does anybody knows anything about him? I have already read some of his poems.
Dear Mash Ghasem: Ebrahim Golestan never said a word about Frough, since the day she passed away. Nobody can make him talk about her. But as someone in the video said: Maybe after his death, we will be able to learn more about their relationship.
از تهیه کنندگان این برنامه کمال تشکر را داریم

I am wondering if Forough's mother is still alive?? Unlike many Iranians who are intraverted (like myself), the whole family seems to be very un-inhibited and candid. I wish more documentaries could/would have been made on other contemporary Iranian Artists, so many have quietly dissappeard during the last decades which is a shame.
This is probably the best documentary on Forough yet
by Mash Ghasem on Mon Mar 07, 2011 09:04 AM PSTIt looks like who's who of modern Iranian letters and arts. It has everyone except Shamlou and Ibrahim Golestan himself. A must see. Definitely teaching material.
GS thanks for the post.
There is a book on Feraydon Farokhzad by Mani. Other than that I haven't read or seen a single work on him.
Thank you for posting
by Maryam Hojjat on Mon Mar 07, 2011 05:39 AM PSTI enjoyed it. Frough was way ahead of her time and she was misunderstood.

Good Job

by Kashk on Sun Mar 06, 2011 08:32 PM PSTVery informative. Very special family, true artists!
do you know what is interesting?
by Benyamin on Sun Mar 06, 2011 07:43 PM PSTanyone and everyone who Foroogh was friend with or in some level knew seemed living a long life except her!
I really liked the way her mother talked about her and after 40 years she is still shedding tears that is a true love indeed.
God bless her soul
Fereydoun
by Jahanshah Javid on Sun Mar 06, 2011 05:26 PM PSTYou know what? It's time to make a documentary about her brother Fereydoun. Such a colorful, wonderful human being. Is there a documentary about him? Sorry I changed the subject. Go back to Forough.
Best Forough
by Jahanshah Javid on Sun Mar 06, 2011 04:51 PM PSTThis a very good documentary. The best I've seen about Forough. It was actually shown for the first time in the U.S. in 2003 at an iranian.com event in Berkeley, California.
