Funny to see the prosecutor soil himself
by choghok on Wed Mar 02, 2011 07:29 AM PSTFunny to see that prosecutors office in iran and tehran soiled themselves and started saying that green leaders are in their house, and chosen not to put on their lights. Of course. It is common to have lights of 24 hrs a day. They are pretty scared.
Also I would not believe in people being so well organized and having such confidence. Hats off to them. I hope no one gets hurt and they continue their non-violent struggle. I am sure that regime can not continue sending troops to all big cities every week, but the people can go out virtually every day.
These two were arrested with
by Soosan Khanoom on Tue Mar 01, 2011 10:47 PM PSTThese two were arrested with their wives and sent to probably a second honeymoon or something ......... they were part of the very same government having Montazeri under house arrest till the day that he died ...
cheezee keh avaz dareh gheleh nadareh
No one learns from history next time is Ahmadinejad and then khamenee's turn ............if you jail and kill ... you shall be jailed or killed .......
i only and only pray for iranian youth .... our innocent youth .... hoping and praying for a peaceful solution .......
it's best that these two fools are arrested....
by shushtari on Tue Mar 01, 2011 08:40 PM PSTonly then can a true patriot rise as the leader to crush these mullahs....
as long as, 'left over' bacheh akhoon crap like these two are 'leading' the oppostition, the mullahs will never fall!
where is reza shah kabir when you need one!
Let me guess
by MRX1 on Tue Mar 01, 2011 05:56 PM PSTBBC will go on fordays writing about these two creatures as the best and brightest hope for future of Iran. Dabashi will give lectures about them right and left. Trita parsi will add few comments here and there and in two weeks will be back where we started from.
Khaymeh shab bazi
by alimostofi on Tue Mar 01, 2011 01:21 PM PSTThe Islamists play this theatrical game very well. They have always done it to make themselves look democratic. One plays the bad guy the other the good guys.
The Iranians all think that it is for real. Time and time again we have seen it in the past 31 years.

Taken as prisoners or even killed during their incarceration,
by Mash Ghasem on Tue Mar 01, 2011 09:15 AM PSTwith these "leaders" you will always have Islamic Republic, in one form or another.
There's suppose to be a set of weekly actions on every Tuesday, but because one of these falls on March 8th, International Working Women's Day [ 17 Esfand] , they have already cancelled it.
The slogans are suppose to be limited only to "Ya Hossain, Mir Hossain" and one other similarly offensive religious obtuse nonsense, for Korobi. Does any of this remind anyone of the monopoly clergy has had in the past 32 years?
To the extent that social movements in Iran distance themselves from the Greens , in practice; and provide an immanant critique of such bizzare , utterly sectarian approaches to organizing and politics, in theory; they shall be successful.
One of the reasons Tunisia and Egypt were so successful in bringing down their presidents was that the opposition practically came out of nowhere, with no "leadership".This seemingly "spontaneous" nature was of strategic significance. Of course we all know that as Gramsci mentioned, there's nothing particularly spontaneous about grass-roots organizing, its only de-centered.
Another was that they had only one aim: the president, they didn't also have "the leader" and Sepah and Basij, and Cyber Basij and Sandis and ..
My two sides!
by comments on Tue Mar 01, 2011 09:08 AM PST1) I support green movement because it's not an armed violence approach. We need baby steps to proceed in a right direction. We will be no where if we live in 30-40 years ago and act like Iranian movies of the time.
2) Unfortunately, a part of my heart is really inspired by their arrests. I cannot forget all the insults and tortures at the time of their power.
Hostage taking is a tenet
by mahmoudg on Tue Mar 01, 2011 08:56 AM PSTof Islam.. This cult cannot survive without intimidation, murder and rape. Has been so for 1430 years and will continue to operate thus, until we Iranians learn to stand up to it and sideline it. Your choice; Iran............
