Azad?!

Right, we needed a moolla to give us a morality lesson and draw a line between femininity and masculinity. One has to have such a bad experience of masculinity to come up with such a feeling and ideas.  Please finish a relationship or go to Psychiatry to forget the past.

It reminds me feminism comments on 30 years ago wherein cooking and housework were observed as detrimental to women. Dear: world has changed.  Cooking and housework are seen as artistic and caring attributes.  To provide one's kids with healthy food she/he has to cook to prevent all the commercially unhealthy ingredients and substitutes.  You have to review recent literatures or "recent" individuals rather than bad dreaming.  Women and men have to work their socks off outside and inside.

" Adding a female stereotype (pink) to a piece of clothing that belongs to the male Clergy in
power who oppresses women, is the height of an Iranian woman's
alienation from her socio-historical identity
."

Simply brilliant, thank you.

Strengthening feminine stereotypes

by Azadeh Azad on

Words: traditions, feminine, cooking, housework, good mother, good wife. Feminism versus femininity.

It is so sad to see that a female artist identifies the traditional women's occupations with femininity. While the latter is in reality a set of psychological traits that are shared by both men and women.

As if the Islamic republic has not done enough to place individual male and female Iranians inside the prison of genders, this artist feels the need to strengthen the status quo concepts.

Creating Pink Turbans is tacky and vexing. Adding a female stereotype (pink) to a piece of clothing that belongs to the male Clergy in power who oppresses women, is the height of an Iranian woman's alienation from her socio-historical identity.

I guess the idiotic anti-feminism has become a global phenomenon, manifesting itself in many illusive ways.

Too bad.

I see some similarity..

by comments on

I am somehow similar to her.  I still appreciate Persian and non-Persian culinary art.  I always try to be fair to my guests and serve a good food in perfection (and on the other way).  I really don't bother to communicate with those who have no idea of cooking.

I am not the followers of classy lifestyle (e.g. traditional sad music and opera, the belief that cooking is not important part of our life and not appreciation of popular young singers like Lady GaGa and middle-ages like Googoosh, etc.).

I have a real happy traditional life now.  This is a lifestyle that I decided to choose 6 years ago, and I trained myself to be always happy in my heart.

A pleasure to listen to

The perfect artist, questioning, unpretentiously doubtful, unfraid of "I don't know."

On another level, I kept thinking, "future Iranian Martha $tewart." When is the IPO?

The pink turban is a brilliant idea. So is her collection of artistic kitchen apparel and coverings.

Refreshing.
