Zartoshi is Iran
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Mar 13, 2011 03:27 AM PDTA while ago I wrote a blog about Islam. In that I showed why Zartoshti is the right path for Iran. Yes people could convert to Christianity or other reasonable religions. But Zarthoshti is the best one for us.
It is integrated into our culture very deep. Our new year NowRuz; Charshanbeh Soori; names of months; Mehregan. These all have Zartoshti roots. It will also shut up those accusing us of "Gharb Zadegi". How could we be Gharb Zadeh if we go to our real root? It also fits very well with existing practices. For example many Iranians like to pray. The word "Namaz" is actually for Zoroastrian prayer. The Sassanids prayed 5 times a day. These were known as "Gah". While I do not advocate we pray 5 times it will fill the gap some need. They are in Middle or Old Persian. So at least we understand some of it. The rest we may understand with a bit of study.
Here are some example of them:

Arash
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Mar 13, 2011 03:02 AM PDTYou are mixing up the Sassanid corruption with real Zartoshti. If you want the real thing go read the Gathas. I am not going to write it all for you. There are plenty of resources.
One warning:Gathas are written in Old Persian. Most of us could not understand it without a lot of study. So you need a translation. The best translations are done by Iranians from Old to Modern Persian. Specially avoid the English translations. They are done by people who do not really understand it. Also avoid the Parsi versions as they follow the Sassanid corrupted version.
Get the Iranian translations. They are the best and most true to the real thing.
Practice I
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Mar 13, 2011 03:22 AM PDTHappiness comes to the one who brings happiness to other people.
This is from the Gathas. A recipe for happiness; try it and I guarantee you will find happiness. I was a miserable person 5 years ago. It was through this practice that I found happiness.
You don't need a ritual to follow this rule. Just go out there and do it.

Zartoshti
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Sun Mar 13, 2011 01:53 AM PSTActually there is plenty of Zartoshti writings that do explaing things in detail. These may be found in the Gathas. Just Daneshmaned nadan does not know them.
I will post some examples in separate posts.
On the other hand:
In the Sassanid era additional practices were put in. These are not "canon" and are not parts of true Zartoshti religion. Things like Vandidad are definitely "add ons" which have no validity.
arashi, before you get too upset on the f*%#ing Arab invasion
by Mash Ghasem on Sun Mar 13, 2011 03:08 AM PDTplease recall that it was the Sasanids corruption which made Iran such an easy prey. It's always from the inside. The Iranian army at every battle with arabs were laughing at their crude weaponary, and yet they won!
A bunch of hitherto nobodys, a bunch of merchants from Mecca mobilized around the practice of Jihad; [ take anyones land you can, God says it's all yours, and if you die you'll go to heaven] defeat a disfunctional world empire, hell bent on starving its own people!
After 1400 years now we have an Islamic Republic with these stats below; sometimes you just lose your optimism!

Prof. Majnon : If I'm not mistaken the term NIK in Arabic refers to the act of copulation. One of those cases of how terms and words of a defeated nation are changed based on humiliation and domination of a culture.
Is anybody surprised?

Devil's advocate...
by Aarash4545 on Sat Mar 12, 2011 05:33 PM PSTSorry for being the devil's advocate, but Zoroastrianism is not all good news either! It's got it's own share of superstitious beliefs etc.. It seems Iranian population "az tars-e aghrab beh maar panaah mibarand"!. Let's hope they're not jumping from the pan into the fire!
I am most amazed at this "Daneshmand"-e jaahel that when comparing the nice & sweet Farsi expressions he keeps reciting Arabic terms which is really Jibberish in the ears of his audience!
Most of the little good verses you find in Koran have been dictated by Salmaan-e Farsi and other traitors, including a group of opportunistic Magi, that betrayed their country by joining forces with the enemy thus helping F**ing Arabs conquer Iran.
The Mullahs/Aakhunds borrowed a lot of their practices, and their attire too (!), from the clergymen of the late Sassanide era, and it's not surprising to hear that Arab Muslims actually call Iranian clergy "Majoos" which is a bastardization of the term 'Magi".
While not a Zoroastrian, I
by MM on Sat Mar 12, 2011 03:48 PM PSTWhile not a Zoroastrian, I can understand the allure of Zoroastrianism due to its simplicity in its message, respect for other religions as well as non-interference in the lives of its believers. The attitude/behavior of IRI has made it so much easier to convert for so many Muslims.

Last time...
by Immortal Guard on Sat Mar 12, 2011 03:03 PM PSTLast time he was talking about the word Noghteh coming from "Nok+Tah".
But anyway Zartosht laid the foundation and this has been an evolutionary path of completion like everything else!
Once you get the overview you can fill in the details!
But anyway I like this Daneshmand Magi. He speaks very well and uses cogent reasoning!
As Khatami once said in a gethering in New York under the skin we Persians are all Zoroastrians!

Islamic anti-Iranian hatred
by Simorgh5555 on Sat Mar 12, 2011 12:29 PM PSTMore example of anti-Iranian hatred. Lets start looking at the verses of the Koran which advocate killing, murder, not to make friends with Christians and Jews and beating your wife with a stick if she is disobedient.
The charlatan Mullah, like all Islamic clerics, is ignorant of Zoroastrian beliefs and that the ultimate good (Kerdare Nik) has precise interpretations in the Gathas and other scholarly interpretations of the Gathas. Finally, the good which Zoroaster talked about many milleniums ago was respect to the world around you: respect for the four elements; refraining from sad, sorrow, anguish and all negative human emotions which can lead to destroy others and self destruction.
Contrast that with Islam: a religion of idol and worhsiping dead saints, mourning and the love of martyrdom; the self-conflagration; gender segragation; subjugation of women; beheading and mutilation of criminals; worshiping a black box in the middle of the desert; ritual slaughter of sheeps during Haj; female circumcision; the banning osf sensual pleasures in extreme cases such as music and dance.
Islam is truly a horrible horrible disgusting dark religion. Is it any surprise that many young Iranians are shunning Islam and converting to Zorastrianism and Christianity?
Death to the Islamic Republic. To be more precise: Death to Islam
