Moving, yet mournful somehow.

by cheshmetroshan on

Watching this short film, I find myself simultaneously moved by the simple majesty of these noble people yet repulsed by the religious imagery which has transformed this once proud land into a shell of its former self.

Thank You

Thank you Cyrus and Aref for the video, especially Tagh Bostan & Kermanshan,  almost smelled those Rice Cookies! And a great sound track. =====================================

A conservative and religious take

by spatima on

This video is an extremly conservative and religious account of what constitutes Iran. If the ladies were covered, it may have been shown on IRIB.

I think over all, its a one-sided and selective look on Iranians and what Iran means as a whole. Iran is a diverse society, and we should make this our strength. However, in Mr. Dowlatshahi's work only a very selective segment of Iranians have been portrayed. If the overall idea is to portray a backward country with "gharbzadehs" who often visit Dizin for a session of Sking, then Mr. Dowlatshahi is definately far off in his overall assesment of Iranian identity.

Thats just my overall thoughts on this matter!

In hope of a Free, Independent, Democratic and Secular Iran

Two fantastic songs posted already on IC today.  One by CC and one by Aref-Adib. These are great songs which are part of those of us who left Iran as adults many years ago. Very nostalgic.  Thanks for sharing.
