I do not want to be defending Daneshmand but please stick to the point.

Whether he is ugly or not is not the issue. He is the only Mollah I heard to openly admit Islam is in trouble in Iran. That is a realism I am yet to see from anyone else. The rest of them are in a fantasy land. No I don't follow or support him. I do not like his point of view on Afghans; Sunni or anyone. But I do respect people who are realist.

"Daneshmand" makes me want to vomit

His hateful speech against non-shias and attacks towards fellow Afghanis shows his ugly face. He calls non shia SOB for example in his talks and then tries to calrify that SOB is the correct term for them. I wish Iranian shows those speeches as well, these other talks is to attract young people and followers.

 He is a real low life and a dangerous creature. I think his hate speeches brings a lot of violence towards non shias in Iran.

Dear VPK. are we stuck with such a cultural wasteland that our only options are either sitting through this bufffoon's B.S. or watching public executions?! Compared to millions of Iranians who are suppressed, gagged and muted, this guy is neither funny nor smart! Yes, he is funny anough to fool a bunch of illiterate basijis, and is smart enough to pass himself as a maverick and critic of the IRI stablishment while recycling the same old B.S. as his fellow "maverick" predecessors (i.e. akhoond Kauffi et al) have for centuries. But an overwhelming majority of Iranians have already passed the phase in which two-bit hustlers like this guy could manipulate their pyche! The wole idea behind a free post-IRI Iran is that demagogues likes this guy can not exploit the gulliblity of uneducated masses!

 Mulla's had platform since a 1000 years ago; where have you been?  and most of these Mulla's use their platform to praise Khamenie and kiss his a**.  This guy actually thinks that our society is sick and he feels that maybe he can attract some of the "laat" crowd to his mosque by his humor and get some sense into their head. 

just watch the end of this week's Parazit and look at their faces, cloth and tokhmeh, that they brought with themselves to watch a man get hanged 5 o'clcok in the morning.  I want to see a person like you, a western educated intellect and a human rights advocate to talk to them and persuade them one way or the other.  trust me you won't last 5 minutes;  not because they are not smart to understand what u're saying, to them you are a self-rightous clown that doesn't understand their world. and to be honest you come out as self rightous to me too. Got to agree

with Tabriz he is really funny. As I said before I have listened to Daneshmand before. Many times he showed an awareness of Iran far beyond others. The famous "Iranians becoming Zoroastrian" observation was his.

Folks would you rather people watched him or an execution. His sermons so far are without hate. No threats; no death to anyone. I am not a Muslim but still enjoy his sermons. Once IRI goes there will still be religion. Better him than some others.

Tabriz..., this fascist SOB calls 7 million Sunni Iranians "bastards" just because they were born into a religious sect that he does not approve of! He envokes his "Emam Khmeini" and "Rahbar-e Enghelab" (Khamenei) to back up his fascist views! Who cares if some people (including yourself) find him funny or smart? He is a demagogue who is given a platform by a criminal regime to spread hatred, while thousands of decent people who are way more qualified to educate people are rotting in prisons! Even if he were against IRI (which he's not, otherwise he'd be in jail or under house arrest), he still is a hate-monger and should have his day in a criminal court in a post-IRI Iran!

i just think this akhund seems like a good guy.  he's doesn't involve himself in politics, does not support IR, he is making iran a better place.  you have to consider his audience.  if you watched this week's parazit, towards the end of the show, it showed 15000 people who came to watch a guy get executed by hanging. he's talking to that type of crowd and he's trying to educate them.  if u think he's stupid, he's not.  he knows his audience.  and he's definitely smart and funny.

My comment was not addressed to you, but a response to Ari's comment below -- which has compared this guy (about whose nuggets of wisedom I couldn't care less) with Jon Stewart, who I believe is too smart to be compared to this wacko! If you have a soft spot for Limbaugh, Beck, or this Akhoond (or perhaps BS in general), it's your problem, not mine!

why can't you think. put 2 and 2 together.  his guy is not political at all, why u're compairing him to Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck!  he is a simple Mulla and he has very good points some times and stupid points some other times.  But he says alot of truth between his sermons.  in fact he is not with the islamic republic at all.  so I don't know why you would compare him to political satirists when he doesn't even talk politics at all. but again, you're a typical confused iranian, who has no basis for his existance other than his messed up world view.

I started liking him alot.  he is not a big theologian but he is very smart and likable guy.  i changed my mind on him.  i like him now even if he says stupid things from time to time.

نتیجه نهایی این می شود که دانشمنمد با شیخ رجبعلی دشمنی دارد چون هیچ خری نمی آید این جوری آبروی خودش را ببرد. به خصوص که گفت بچه خوشگل هم بوده. از این همه دستگیرمان می شود که دانشمند در زمان طلبگی طعمۀ شیخ رجبعلی بوده و حالا دارد انتقام می گیرد.
