Actually, that was me. :)
by comments on Sun Oct 09, 2011 04:25 AM PDTActually, that was me. Don't tell anyone. I wish she sliced and froze me.
Good point, I shouldn't ignore the times my head was broken. Once someone threw a rock on me and the other time my friend closed the yard door on me.
p.s. the first line starting with "actually" was not true, but the rest were true. :)
Comments, A Question about the Baby
by Faramarz on Sat Oct 08, 2011 03:53 PM PDTComments,
Did the baby that your house-maid threw over the wall resemble you by any chance?
You know, a mother's love is unconditional and immeasurable, but then again, there is always a limit to it!
Thanks for sharing the family secrets.
You can't claim to be for monarchy if you call him "Mr"

Funny example about the husband.
by comments on Sat Oct 08, 2011 02:48 PM PDTIn a visit to a small factory QE asked a question from an employee, then the husband responded in advance:
QE: What are you making?
Husband: She probably makes $7 to $10 per hour.
p.s. I am not sure if I am against Monarchy. I like Reza Pahlavi.

Boy vs. Girl
by comments on Sat Oct 08, 2011 01:14 PM PDTThere is nothing special about a girl or boy at present. We have Queen Elizabeth II available now. Her husband keeps embrassing the world by his funny and unthoughtful comments.

by comments on Sat Oct 08, 2011 01:11 PM PDTI really like your idea. It was a brave approach if she didn't give up the throne. I wonder what could have happened then. I cannot even imagine. They couldn't kill her for sure.
It was a BIG message to the world to support human rights if she did that.

by comments on Sat Oct 08, 2011 01:16 PM PDTIf they were that smart, they were yet our king.
Your comment reminded me a helper (khedmatkar) in our family who threw his new born just to the other side of the wall to a garden because it was not her child with the husband.
She could have burned the baby or sliced and froze it and put in the freezer or a garbage bag:)
I really like your suggestion. If it happened it was a big plus for Iranians. Unfortunately, the possiblity was zero at that time. Even now?
They Should Have Adopted
by Faramarz on Tue Oct 04, 2011 08:33 AM PDTIf they were truly in love, they would have adopted a baby from an orphanage in Iran.
Much ado about... what?!!
by Arj on Tue Oct 04, 2011 08:14 AM PDTThis king business is a real backward concept to begin with! Why does it have to be a direct male descendant of the lking? Especially since Shah had a child (Shahnaz) from his previous marriage, why couldn't she be the heir to the throne? What if Shah had a son and he was not in a physical or mental capacity to be the king? What if he was incompetent or not intereseted in the whole game? Why, what if, how...?!!
I would've given up the throne
by Tabarzin on Tue Oct 04, 2011 03:47 AM PDTFor a woman like her or changed the constitution. Seriously. In retrospect, one wonders, given what happened, did Mohammad-Reza Pahlavi have regrets on his death-bed in having to be compelled by the office to give up on his marriage with the real love of his life: Soraya Esfandiyari?
Granted, if I were the Shah, I would've given up the throne for a woman like Farah Diba as well.
What's so special about a son?
by Jahanshah Javid on Tue Oct 04, 2011 03:08 AM PDTJust curious. What's so great/special about boys/men?
Have you ever thought about it? Or just repeating something you've been told all your life?
A king
by statira on Mon Oct 03, 2011 05:45 PM PDTneeds a son. Shah had no other choice.
Another example.
by comments on Mon Oct 03, 2011 04:05 PM PDTOne of our friends got divorced recently. They told all that the devorce was because they were not able to have a child. They didn't mention who was not able to reproduce.
During their 10 years marriage we hadn't seen any love or understanding in their marriage starting from the begining when they had no idea about their child question.
I wonder if a childless marriage by itself makes a KING to separate from her loved wife.
