I thought it was the women's hair

They used to say earthquakes are caused by women showing their hair. Now they say it is fault lines. I think they should arrest all those women who show their fault lines.

And he says it with a smile

Anyone with an ounce of care about his professional responsibility would not respond to such an important question like this. Knowing Tehran is on a major fault line, knowing than some 15 million live there, knowing what earthquakes have done in Iran, knowing what natural disasters have done in recent memory and then admitting that you are not prepared... it just shows what kind of careless idiots are running the country.

one yet.

Almost all those ugly towers have zero safety standard. They'll collapse like leaves.  And it's not just the buildings codes (or lack of), but lack of preparedness also.

Then again with this rate of increased, extended air pollution in Tehran, and daily deaths due to it, seems as if the smug has been substituting for earthquake!
