by Simorgh5555 on Sat Sep 10, 2011 02:05 AM PDTThank you for your post. My own views of Kurdish independence struggle used to be shaped by ignorant stereotypes from. Clearly most Kurds identfy themselves as Iranians despite cultural differences which exist and not only are they not separatist but are at the forefront of peaceful co-existence amonsgt all Iranians.
In contrast most of the violence in Iraq seems to be perpetrated by the IR and its Shia cronies against the Sunnis. It is correct to observe that we have not seen Kurdish inspired violence ever since the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime. And even then the majority of Kurds were happy to keep a united Iraq and could have demanded an independent homeland by applying pressure on the US. However , this did not prevail and I do not believe, bar the most radical Kurdih resistance groups, that Kurds in Iran or Azaris in Iran want to separate. We are all Iranians.
As much as I would love to see the Revolutionary Guard and Basij

OIA, and Kurds would correctly see you as an ignorant,
by Zendanian on Sat Sep 10, 2011 01:52 AM PDTarrogant observor. Per your accusation of "seperatism" from Iraq, Iran and Turkey:
Iraq- If you haven't noticed Kurds in northern part of Iraq ARE THE GOVERNMENT, and that area of Iraq, compared to the rest of the country, despite all it's problems, is relatively free of constant car bombs and mullahs.
Iran- We have had two GENERAL STRIKES in Iranian Kurdestan, in the past five years. A most effective, civilized, participatory, non-violent form of action. By many standards this makes Iranian Kurdestan the vanguard of Iranians, struggle to overthrow IR. Something to ponder and learn from.
Turkey- PKK despite all its top-down, undemocratic culture and structure, which also applies to its illegitimate child PJAK, have valid demands per cultural freedoms in Turkey.
Last time I checked Iranian Kurdestan had been militarily occupied by IR for the past 32 years: is that your idea of "living in peace?" How would you react, if some stranger comes to your house and uses indiscriminate, and unrestrained violence against your loved ones? Turn the other cheek?

by Simorgh5555 on Sat Sep 10, 2011 01:45 AM PDTAs much as I would love to see the Revolutionary Guard and Basij destroyed this does not mean giving the Kurdish resistance movement unfettered suppport.
A sensible approach would be to explore the demands of groups such as the PJAK, PKK and its other viariants. If they are fighting for an independent Kurdistan within Iran's borders then this will be opposed by any means necessary. On the other hand if they are fighting for recognition of Kurdish rights and limited autonomy within Iran then this should be accommodated wherever possible.
It is time that we embrace our diversity but accept the indivisibility of our nation.
I share my Kurdish compatriots hatred for the IR as most Iranians do. However, the violent militants should come clean and lay their cards on the table.
They will not and should not get any support if they aspire to "break away" from Iran.

I am sorry to see this footage!
by Benyamin on Fri Sep 09, 2011 10:40 PM PDTMost of them were slodiers! The PJAK is stupid for killing them. Those soldiers were bewteen hard place and rock. If they don`t fight they get killed by the Sepah and if they fight thye kill thier own people.
Any of the soldiers could have been me! I did my military service close to the srea(although got lucky since didn`t have to use my gun not even once) But this is a prof as fighting like this is indiscriminate and only generates "hate" amongst broader Iranian population. Exact same thing happened to the MEK and most other Kurdish groups denounce the PJAK in the first place.
PJAK is being supplied and supported by the Americans. it is a "tit for tat" kind of thing for the Americans and IRI but the ones getting hurt are the youth on both sides.
PJAK leaders are liars and degenrates bastards! so are the IRI.
How and where?
by darius on Fri Sep 09, 2011 08:42 PM PDTHow PJAK get their hand on body bags that has military use?
Who is supplying them with bodybags?

by iamfine on Fri Sep 09, 2011 07:49 PM PDTPJAK is a terrorist organization. For years trying hard to separate the Iranian Kurdistan from Iran. I have respect for those who are defending our motherland. The same thing happened when Iran was fighting Saddam. The same people saved Khuzestan from Arabs
Bullies are cowards
by asadabad on Fri Sep 09, 2011 07:48 PM PDTAnd that's exactly what the Iranian government is. They're only "brave" when they're beating unarmed boys/girls in the streets. As soon as they face someone who's determined, they run like cowards. The IRI is too embarrased to admit that they're getting lashed by militants with inferior weaponry and numbers.
ouch!

But get used to it. I have a feeling we'll be seeing clips like this, from all over Iran, a lot more often over the next year or so.....
