The Arab Spring: The End of Postcolonialism: "In this landmark book, Hamid Dabashi argues that the revolutionary uprisings that have engulfed multiple countries and political climes from Morocco to Iran and from Syria to Yemen, were driven by a ‘Delayed Defiance’ – a point of rebellion against domestic tyranny and globalized disempowerment alike that signifies no less than the end of Postcolonialism. Sketching a new geography of liberation, Dabashi shows how the Arab Spring has altered the geopolitics of the region so radically that we must begin re-imagining the moral map of ‘the Middle East’ afresh." >>>

The continuation of Neocolonialism
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Tue Apr 24, 2012 07:51 PM PDTPromoting extremism is ultimately the worst thing for the World, but since the west consumes like the future will never arrive, neocolonialism will be extremely harmful for the west down the road. There is no guarantee of the wests future when it is based on political turmoil and suppression of peaceful and progressive forces.

The Arab Spring!!
by masoudA on Tue Apr 24, 2012 10:31 AM PDTCall it the Sunni Spring.......Call it the punishment of any leader in the middle east who befriended America - even if it was for a very short time (ala Ghadafi). Call it the full middle east takover bu the old colonialists all over again......
Dabashi is just the messneger...the message is dictated by the colonialists whose goal is to keep introducing America and Isreal as enemies to the population in the middle east.
According to Mr. Dabashi's handlers, middle east is headed towards being heavens on earth!!! lol
