International Business Times: Millions of Internet users in Iran will be permanently denied access to the World Wide Web and cut off from popular social networking sites and email services, as the government has announced its plans to establish a national Intranet within five months. In a statement released Thursday, Reza Taghipour, the Iranian minister for Information and Communications Technology, announced the setting up of a national Intranet and the effective blockage of services like Google, Gmail, Google Plus, Yahoo and Hotmail, in line with Iran's plan for a "clean Internet." >>>

Censorship is Futile
by Parsy on Mon Apr 09, 2012 01:16 PM PDTCensorship is Futile strategy, IRI and Rahbar are paranoid once again after what they experienced in 2009, No democratic elected gov. would do such a thing; only a fascist dictatorship such as IRI would go this far.... another uprising is imminent and would bring the end of this Satanic regime of Mullahs….
Just in Time for the Upcoming sElections
by Cost-of-Progress on Mon Apr 09, 2012 10:22 AM PDTThe mullahs figure if people cannot communicate with the outside world, they can do whatever (not that they did not before) behind closed doors and hence, cutoff the Internet all together.
Two questions:
1. Why even bother? Last time the world did not care, and more than likely, there will NOT be a next time.
2. Will the Iranian people take this sitting down as well? Will they not get finally sick of the status quo with a bunch of rapist anti nationalist pricks hijacking their heritage and country? Have they asked their parents and elders "baba in che gohi bood khordin?"

And as a continuation of these policies
by Anonymous Observer on Mon Apr 09, 2012 08:52 AM PDTI believe that we should all disclose our identities as some of our esteemed friends on IC have repeatedly demanded. We can then limit our discussions to traffic laws in Iran.
This is what happens when
by Simorgh5555 on Mon Apr 09, 2012 07:47 AM PDTThis is what happens when you remain indifferent to the suffering of the Iranian people. The indifference of Iranians is a scar on the conscience of our country.
