Committee of Human Rights Reporters: Dr. Kamran Ayyazi, a dentist, is one of the unknown prisoners of ward 350 of Evin Prison.
Ayyazi was arrested in early February 2011 on charges of “blasphemy," and "assembly and collusion against national security." He has been in prison for over a year.
Based on reports from Evin prison, the initial trial of Ayyazi was held in Branch 28 of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court, based on an indictment that included charges of "moharebeh," (enmity with God). The court sentenced Kamran Ayyazi to nine years in prison and 160 lashes.
Currently, a separate case file against Ayyazi is in progress on charges of "apostasy" and "insulting the Prophet." The reason for the charges and his prosecution was Ayyazi's membership in Goftogoo online forum and writing in his personal blogs using critical humor on religious and ideological issues.

Dear Dr Kamran and supporters
by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on Wed Apr 11, 2012 05:07 PM PDTYou are now a National Hero, demanding through your noble Actions that all dark and inhumane laws be abolished along with the corrupt authorities that impose them upon people. The IRI's time has been finished for a long time, were it not for the foreign support the marginalized extremists receive. We Iranians are now all Kamran Ayyazi and demand freedom and justice for all, From Religious Bigots who have imposed religion into politics, law, education, instead of its rightful place in spirituality. Kamran you are inspiring us and have inspired us in every corner of the world through your selfless actions and encouraging us all to unite to achieve freedom and justice for iranians.

Religous freedom is part of the basic human rights and IRI has been in violation of those rights for the past 33 years. The brave bunch have been standing their ground for demanding and exercising those rights and as a result paying a hefty price for it. They need our support and a sustain comapiagn for the immediate and unconditional freedom.
My hats off to each and every one of these brave souls.

Institutionalized barbarism
by Fred on Wed Apr 11, 2012 04:45 AM PDTThose who advocate cutting a deal with the Islamist Rapist Republic (IRR) in the form of a “Grand Bargain”, are in effect asking for this sort of institutionalized barbarism to be continued.
The only way out is the overthrow of the entire IRR system, “reformist” and all.
