This is a joke that Daryoush Shayegan uses as an intro in his book.

An Iranian goes back to Iran, and takes Taxi to Tehran from airport. He asks the driver to stop for him to get a packet of cigarette, cabbie says, then he has to stop by a Mosque. The passenger asks why a Mosque?

"Because now the committee of the Mosque sells Cigaerttes."

"So where has the Clergy gone to?"

"The Clergy have gone to Universities."

"And where have the Students gone to?"

"The Students been sent to Jails."

"And where have the criminals gone to?"

"Criminals have gone to government offices."

What is critical is that the next time that the Iranians come out on the streets and challenge the Regime, they know that the international community and the civilized world support them and stand by them

Doctor Jaan, my old chap (leftie!) please allow me to enlighten you here.

It is quite acceptable for Iranians who live in the west to get their freedom with the assistance of the west. But if you happen to live in the east, then you are not covered.

It is like the Republicans' Health Care coverage! You are basically on your own Bani Aadam!

But the message will remain the same. 

It is of such sad state to hear about our own lack of hope or belief.  To believe that truly our destiny is at the hand of West and we can’t do anything about it.

   When we lose hope, we have lost everything.  That is what differentiate between some of us and those who are fighting this tyranny, called IRI.

'Hambastegi' is the main key to victory

Are you saying we should all strive for the same spirit and end up in jail And that is when we will get our freedom?!!!!!!

Does not make much sense bud!

And just keep this in mind that if and when the west Decides that it is time to hit this joint and make something happen, by god they will, regardless of us begging or not.

It looks like one more [honorable] hoonarmand/poet has joined the rank of other brave Iran-doost in Evin.  Frankly the way he was writing, it was a matter of time and not IF, that he would join the ranks. 

My hat off to each and every one of these brave bunch for standing up for their rights and freedom.   

They are an inspiration for those of us who beg and expect the West to bring us the freedom.
